I started using "Vocodes" when it first launched. The owner (at the time, not sure if its still owned by the same guy or not) was, bored, with nothing to do because of some "pandemic". So, he created Vocodes, later changed to FakeYou. It really has come A LONG way!
Many MANY voices to choose from. The monthly fee.. Mmmm, it's a bit steep, at least the one I use anyway. Wish they would do a yearly subscription instead of monthly. Don't want pay? No problem, you may have to wait a while for your "voice" to convert. If you pay monthly though, On average, it's about a 15 second wait (on the $15 tier) before it starts to convert. Going the free route is fine if your a 2 - 3 times a week, or less, user. Your wait time can be 1 - 15 minutes though, depending how many people are on the site.
No need to create an acct, just use the site. When you pay though, you'll need an acct. There are more benefits to having a paid subscription then having a free one. Careful, they DO have automatic renewel. You CAN shut it off though and it won't auto renew after the end of the subscription.
Knowledge of audio editing is a GREAT asset. Especially when your limited on the free side, when your doing Text to Speach.
There may be 8500+ voices that they brag about, but.. of those 8500+ I would say 2000 are good, and 500 are spot on. Not to brag, but... God has blessed me with the ability to flucuate my voice quite a bit.. but at last count? My 20 voices compared to their 500? THATS a much bigger library ;)
A lot of people have tried (including myself) to create voices using their suggestions. But! if your not famililar with whats really needed to create a GOOD sounding voice? Forget it! (Its very aggravating) some of their features included in their subscription plans though DO make it SUPER easy!
One more thing.. not sure why they don't accept paypal, but.. to each their own, i guess.
