Dishonest and Unprofessional – Avoid This Agency

My experience with EdEx has been nothing short of appalling. They placed me in a fixed-term LSA role at Harris Academy St John’s Wood, then completely abandoned me once the contract ended due to budget cuts — something I had no control over.

When I contacted them to ask for help finding another role, Ryan Bingham told me I’d be “too expensive” to work with now. Completely unacceptable and insulting.

Since then, I’ve applied to several of their advertised roles and repeatedly emailed a recruiter named Becca — who has ignored every message since July. - (We’re in October now)I’ve also called their main office numerous times, only to now be met with an automated message saying I’m “not allowed to call this number.” They’ve actually blocked me for no reason at all.

I even contacted George, the director of EdEx, to raise my concerns — and unsurprisingly, he hasn’t responded either.

This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and clearly doesn’t care about the people they claim to represent. Once they’ve used you to fill a role, you’re on your own. I would strongly advise anyone considering EdEx to stay well away — they’re only interested in profit, not people.

I sent an email through got a response but after that no follow up!was kind of disappointed as I tho that communication would of been better not to mention as well they contact you via email only ..no one bothered to call to say why they couldn't speak to me further .

I found my university placement year through EdEx recruitment, and they have been brilliant throughout. I first had a phone call with George who was fantastic and made a great impression before moving me on to agents recruiting for the area I planned on living in, where I worked with James and Becca. They both found jobs that suited me extremely quickly, always kept me informed and provided extensive help in order for me to be completely prepared for trial days. It was with Becca that I found the role I am currently 3 weeks into and absolutely love, she kept in touch throughout the process with amazing guidance and support. Could not recommend more!

Becca has been absolutely incredible! I have had such a good experience with this agency. Becca managed to get me a school placement that suited my needs very quickly! 10/10 would recommend Becca and this agency!

I applied for a TA job via indeed on a Sunday. By the Monday, I had been contacted by the lovely Alex. He is outgoing, bubbly and professional, making me feel very comfortable in the job searching process. He contacted me explaining the job I applied for and another potential job in more detail. He answered all my questions promptly and efficiently.

Alex contacted me again the next day to offer me a trial day at the school of the TA job. He explained everything that was expected of me, including dress code and the structure of the day.

I had a wonderful trial day, and I was offered the job starting in September. Alex has been in regular contact, answering any further questions and setting up paperwork.

He has been brilliant liaising with myself and the school, and I am very grateful for his constant effort and support.

Ryan was an absolute gem in helping me get a job! So incredibly thankful to him and all his hard work!

I had a fantastic experience with EdEx. George and Josh were both extremely helpful in conducting the initial phone calls before Ryan found an excellent role for me. Ryan was great throughout the entire process, responding swiftly and ensuring I was prepared for my interview. I would highly recommend EdEx to anyone looking for a job in education.

I’m very happy with the support I had from Josh Haynes at EdEx. I signed up to another agency prior to EdEx and they made me complete all these forms and do a virtual interview for my profile and then I didn’t hear back from them. I was glad I found EdEx after as I had a much smoother experience.

During my initial call with Josh he really took the time to listen to what I wanted out of the role and what my end goal was. With that in mind Josh found me a role that I’d never heard of before so I was a bit sceptical but it met my specific requirements.

Josh informed me of the role on a Wednesday, I was offered an interview on Thursday, had the interview and Friday and got the job on the following Monday. I was in shock! The role was also permanent and salaried which was fantastic because I initially sent my CV for a contract role that had weekly pay.

Although I only had a day for interview prep, Josh really supported me through this as he sent me a lot of resources. I truly appreciated this.

All in all I would definitely recommend Josh from EdEx to anyone I know that is looking for a job in the education sector.

(Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I got a call a day later than initially arranged.)

I was reached out to by this wonderful agency who found me the perfect job - all of which would not have been possible without them. One person in particular called Ryan Bingham made all of this possible, I rate his (and their) services 10/10!

It was a respectful, professional recruitment process and Ryan B was fantastic in ensuring that I was prepared for interview, going out his own way to call the evening before. I felt completely supported by him without feeling hounded like some recruitment companies make you feel. Would really recommend!

I was looking for opportunities for career progression and expressed an interest in a role advertised by EdEx. I received a response from EdEx within minutes. We discussed my CV and career aspirations that evening, and within a few days, they had arranged for me to meet a prospective employer with whom I have now taken a role. EdEx made the process of finding a new position very straightforward. Throughout the recruitment process, they were responsive to questions and helped me build a relationship with my new employer with helpful advice.

Spent the year on a placement thanks to EdEx. Was an incredibly smooth process for the application and this did not change throughout the entire year. James was an absolute legend and was always ready to answer questions, gain more information if needed. Would recommend James, Alex, who also helped me secure the position, and the entire EdEx company for helping make my placement easy to enjoy.

Ryan was instrumental in getting me my dream job. His knowledge of schools in Tower Hamlets is impressive. He tailored his advice to my specific circumstances rather than giving a pre-prepared script. This really boosted my chances of landing the job I wanted. Hopefully I won’t need to use a recruiter for a long time, but when I do I’ll definitely come back.

Ryan Bingham has been incredibly supportive throughout my job search. He consistently kept in contact and only reached out with roles and opportunities that genuinely suited my experience and goals. His guidance with CV updates, interview preparation, and lesson planning was invaluable. Thanks to his help, I secured a new teaching role that is not only closer to home but also offers better pay. I initially spoke with Becca who was a great in discussing and understanding my situation and giving me confidence with the process in finding a teaching role. Shortly after the Director, Ryan, called me as he thought he had the perfect role for me. A matter of 10 days or so later my job was secured following an observation lesson and interview.
