Disappointed
I booked a train ticket from Shanghai to Guilin and I receive the reservation straight away so everything ok for that. I would like to ad my middle name on the booking but they ask me half price of my ticket for that so not really happy. I finally refused to pay and ask to leave the booking like the beginning. After a long day of waiting an answer, I receive an email verry not professional when they just wrote : "ok got it".
Happy at the beginning but very disappointed by the customer service.

false advertisement
my trip in Japan with ChinaTour was a big disappointment. They made big advertisement that a DJ who lived in Japan for over 9 years will be leading the tour. I booked the trip under the impression that she would provide us extensive introductions about Japanese culture for the places that we were going to visit or tell us stories about her experience in Japan. We got NONE.
The service was bad. They took us to a so called "mini-yellow stone" which is just a small bridge as one stop. They took us to a Japanese language only museum with no audio introduction. I asked for a little verbal introduction, they refused based on the reason that they do not allow loud speaking in public place in Japan. Come on, we have earphones nowadays. I had no idea what we are looking at, what is the purpose the entire time. They took us to Osaka Castle only to take some group pictures and walk around without even getting into the Castle.
The food was bad. They took us to a barbecue restaurant which were crowded with tourists, we did not have enough time to finish our lunch
Top quality tour
This trip exceeded all of our exceptions. China was amazing - such a fascinating combination of old and new.
Daisy from InterTrips took care of all our pre-trip arrangements, including the visa. The flights on Air China were very nice and we were able to select our seats in advance for a small fee.
We were met at the Beijing Airport by our outstanding guides Michael and Eric. They were very easy to spot after clearing immigration and baggage claim. The hotels were all top notch with so many breakfast choices. There were about 38 in our group and everyone was conscientious about being where they needed to be at the assigned time. Our guides in Shanghai were Qi and Wu, both were fabulous.
There were lunches included almost every day that were served family style at tables of 8-10 with lazy susans for passing the Chinese food. There were always several proteins, rice and vegetables, plenty of food for all. There was local Chinese beer and usually Sprite.
My favorites were climbing the Great Wall, optional MagLev train tour in Shanghai and optional boat ride on the Grand Canal in Suzhou. Wish we had signed up for the optional Shanghai river cruise.
I thought the shopping would be annoying but ended up loving all the presentations. We bought something at every stop.
Overall, we travel a lot and this was one of my favorite vacations ever. Would go again any time.

Great experience!
our tour guide in beijing, michael, was great. so was our guide in shanghai, qi. she went above and beyond making up for our delay one day in flying from beijing to shanghai. she took us to a swap meet-type place, where i got eyeglasses made for cheap! and she took us on the maglev train, which was so cool.
thought the tour was really well done and so affordable!! thank you!

Excellent tour for $599 and 10 days in china: beijing, xian, shanghai and more. Includes round trip airfares from/to san francisco and beijing to xian. Best deal ever, but of course considering that it is the last of the travel season, ie cold winter without the snow.i had travelled all over china in 2001 and I saw tremendous infrastructure developments. I recommend intertrips. BTW, I had traveled with intertrips to Bangkok and it was worth every penny.

China Tour by Intertrips - This trip was marvelously fantastic.
This trip was marvelously fantastic.
When I bought the tour from Groupon for $799.00 originating from Phoenix, AZ, I was thinking: “ Wow, what a deal ! The round trip air fare from Los Angeles to Beijing would already cost about $700.00. I wonder what kind of hotel woud we be staying and what kind of breakfast would we be having.”
The first hotel that we arrived at was Novotel Sanyuan in Beijing and I was impressed considering the price that we paid. I was even msre impressed by the other hotels we stayed at – Grand Noble Hotel in Xi An, Grand Metropark Hotel in Suzhou, Grand Park Hotel in Wuxi,, the Grand New Century Hotel Yuahng in Hanzhou, and the Holiday Inn Shanghai. All these hotels are like 4 and 5-star hotels. The breakfasts that are included, was unbelievable. There were lots and lots of chinese and western dishes to choose from.
Services were also great, starting from the staff of Intertrips in Los Angeles, the Tour Guides and the Bus drivers.
The tour guides, Lisa in Beijing; Amanda in Xi-An; and John Tang in Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. were all great. They are very knowledgeable, english-speaking, hospitable and very helpful. Thank you Lisa, Amanda, and John. Thank you, Laura of Intertrips in Los Angeles.
All the Tourist spots that we visited were great, too. The cities that my wife enjoyed the most is Shanghai and Beijing.
What I learned from this trip is that the Chinese people are very honest, helpul, and friendly. There are not that many people in China who speaks English, so it you want to go around on your own, I suggest getting this “Translator” app on your phone. You speak in English and the phone would translate it to Mandarin so you can let the other pary listen to it. In turn, they would speak in Chinese and the ranslator will translate it to Engish, so you could listen to it.
I have recommended similar tour to China by Intertrips to my relatives and friends. As of now, I’m looking at an Intertrips touor to Japan for 2019.

Just returned from the 9-night Splendid China trip. Kudos to agent Vivian Niu, and our two local guides - Jing and Laura. Hotels were out of this world, meals delicious and filling, guides were kind, enthusiastic, and put up with a lot due to the few "ugly Americans" who were in our group of 30. Busses were comfortable, and sights we visited were very interesting. We especially enjoyed the Hutong Village excursion in Beijing. Our visa arrived in plenty of time prior to departure with explicit instructions for how to handle them. I've been recommending InterTrips to everyone I speak with. We look forward to more travels with this fantastic company.

Highly recommend this agency
We are not group tours fans, so we asked them to organize a private tour for our family instead.
The agents in their Los Angles office were excellent, the tour was wonderfully organized and guided. They took care of every aspect, from the warm welcome at the airport to every site, hotel, and domestic flight. We highly recommend this travel company!

Horrible Service
Horrible Service. A Complete waste of money per our opinion. Do not book this vacation, they will place you in dangerous places that have strangers breaking into your hotel room. They will put you on miserable tours where they will leave you stranded unless you pay more. They will take you to places with aggressive sales people and you will not able to see any of the sites. Just a nightmare vacation. Also be very afraid to leaving a negative review or sharing your experience with them because they will threaten to sue you and start attacking your character, morals, and orientation.

Great for the price, but know what you are buying.
Intertrips provided everything that they said they would. My main issue with this particular tour (Splendid China) was that it was more about getting us to and from their "factory tours"' i.e shops than it was about sightseeing. They could eliminate Hangzhou and Suzhou completely and have a much nicer trip. We wasted a couple of days travelling on buses and checking in and out of hotels instead of enjoying ourselves. Should have just spent 4 days in Shanghai. On the plus side, the hotels were 5 star and the included breakfast buffets were unreal.

I did the 8 day tour starting in Beijing for $699 with my dad. It exceeded my expectations. they really look out for you the whole way, no BS at all. We enjoyed the tours in the silk, tea, and jade factories and never felt a hard sell. Yes, the items were a bit more expensive than if you found them in other places but they were in line with the level of hotels we stayed at. You dont have to buy anything you dont want, but you get to learn about them. If I flew to China on my own I would be happy to pay for thees tours. The boat rides were also great for photos.
I had stayed at the Great Wall Marriott for about $380 a night in 2012, yes it was nice, but it wasn't nearly as nice as these hotels we stayed in on the tour.
The trip must be subsidized to give it away at this price. They did make sure to only show you an impressive experience. Its really the best of China. Im going back for the 15 day tour with the whole family next year. I think China is investing in good impressions on this one and have out done themselves.
Save a seat for us in Feb. 2019

Not very clear on payment
They send you a credit card form and then tell you can only pay by wire transfer or check.

It comes down to the air transportation…
It comes down to the air transportation arranged awful. Months before travel we were sent a copy of the air reservations and asked to ok it. We were shocked the return flight arrangements would require us to be on flights or waiting in airports at total of 48 hours. So we said this does not work please arrange something else. When we received our travel package weeks before our travel nothing had been changed. We went back and fourth with the represtative for weeks and nothing changed. She reminded us of the low cost of the trip as an excuse for the poor flights arranged. This trip required us to spend 16 hours in Saigon’s airport outside of security because we could not check our bag early. This after a two hours flight into Saigon. Boarded flight 16 hours later and after a 5 hour flight another lay over in Soul for 12 hours before our 11 hour flight home. At our insistence we were provided a 2 star hotel in Soul to freshen up for 4 hours but this had been a big drawn out battle with the represtative to arrange. Would never travel with this company again. My wife and I have traveled coach around the world with many other companies, India, Africa, China to name a few. So we had a lot of others experiences to compare this one too. Avoid this company.
