Incompetent. Sent two wrong items on an urgent order that I paid next day delivery for. Was advised they would send out correct items same day, only to receive a subsequent email advising they would not send out correct items until return received. Next day becomes a week plus a waste of my time.
This company is terrible! Look at so many bad reviews particularly its customer service, people claiming they’ve been lied to and ignored!! Don’t believe the good reviews!! I didn’t receive my order, yet they refuse to help! They say because there’s a photo of it being left on my doorstep then that’s proof of delivery when in fact reality, consumer law and common sense states otherwise! I’m not worried about the money because I can claim back through my bank as they are aware of consumer law and have common sense! I’d already had two high orders from them which went fine, the problems arise when something goes wrong! I warn you not to use this company! They’ve been rude in not replying and not getting back to me when they stated they would! They are ignoring consumer law and what’s right! If I had to I’d take them to court, but as I said I will claim through my bank who will then demand the money from Build and Plumb. I really do detest this company for how they’ve treated me and I believe scammed me, as in ignoring consumer law and what’s right, when they know my rights but ignore them! The delivery company didn’t knock, I was in all day but decided to leave the order, or say they did, how do I know it was taken back by them after the photo, hence why a photo is rightfully not considered proof of delivery! To leave on my doorstep a big order like that when it’s clearly seen from a public road! I also found out afterwards that gypsies were working in a neighbours drive! Sorry to stereotype but I am concerned! Please do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere! I will now be copying and pasting this review everywhere possible and will soon be doing a YouTube video review showing all correspondence with this sham company!
I received my new hose in a timely manner and although not used yet, appeared to be new.
However, the hose was shown in a plastic box but arrived in a cardboard box. I sent feedback which appears to have been ignored.
I have now looked at other peoples feedback and discover that 10% is negative.
My hose was manufactured in 2022 so I wonder if it will last the full 5 year guarantee!
Also the parent company is listed as JT Dove so this traditional company may be separate to "BuildandPlumbonlinematerials" in quality of service.
Placed an order for an item listed as in stock on their website and selected 48 hour delivery.
Had a notification the next day to say that the item had been despatched and had confirmation email from Royal Mail to say they were expecting the package.. so far so good.
Five days pass and nothing gets delivered. Daily checks on the Royal Mail tracker say that they still hadn't received the item.
I emailed Build & Plumb to find out what was going on. To be fair they did respond quickly, however, that was the only good thing. Turns out the item was never in stock and they had to order it in from the manufacturer.
I strongly advise anyone deciding to order from Build & Plumb to actually phone them to find out if the item is in stock as you obviously can't trust the website.
Ultimately I was lied to twice - once saying the item was in stock and again saying that it had despatched. Terrible business practice, I certainly won't be using them again.

One of worst buying experiences I've ever had. It took 6 phone calls to finally get them to ship the order that I placed via Amazon. Never again.
Ordered 2 long sleeve t-shirts by Snickers and Mascot on the 29th June. Had to chase 4 weeks later to be told THEY had not ordered it in from their suppliers and it would be another 10 working days. 12 working days later after chasing them again they decided to cancel my order even though they are still advertising the items for sale. DONT BUY YOUR WORK GEAR FROM THEM, TERRIBLE SERVICE.

I ordered a towel rail valve and paid for next-day delivery because I was in a rush with the work.
Delivery was quick, but once the package was opened, came the surprise.
The valve was full of scratches, making it impossible to fit.
I called customer service and sent an email with pictures of the damage, and their solution was for me to send it back to get a refund or a new one.
If they were more professional, they should have checked it before sending a damaged item to a customer.
Now I have to fill the heating system to leave hot water for my clients and then order new valves from another supplier and then empty the system again to install the valves.
They have caused me delay, money lost and time wasted.
Never will use again and I don't recommend.
I purchased a product (£1200) which wasn’t perfect when it arrived. I emailed the team, they asked for photos and then resolved the issue to a very satisfactory resolution. Thank you.
Ordered a loft hatch and ladder for next day delivery on Monday as I had a tradesperson in all week who could fix it. The ladder alone was delivered Tuesday. I telephoned the company who assured me they’d get in touch with the courier and track it down asap. No response all day. I called again Wednesday and was told they would send another. It’s now 6pm Friday and once I worked out which delivery company the new tracking number was for, the tracking for the hatch door says that they have been notified but not received a parcel yet. I was assured it would arrive today.
I’m really disappointed with this experience as they’ve let me down, and they’ve failed to come back to me or follow through on what they said they would do. I woudlnt trust them for same week delivery again, I hope it’s not simply that I was a female customer calling / with a delivery issue - I wonder if they get their act together for male project managers / builders.
I originally ordered on the 11th of July with dispatch taking place on the 14th. That order never made it to me as it was damaged in transit. No communication came from the seller and it was left to me to call DX to find this out and then call to rearrange a resend. After calling on Monday 21st I was told it would be dispatched the same day and arrive on the Tuesday. The order wasn't dispatched until the Tuesday and then DX failed again to deliver it on Wednesday despite me staying in for the two hour time slot. It now says it's due today but with no time window. 13 days to wait is really not acceptable.
