A PhD is not good enough
I applied to be a sociology tutor. I pivoted from three Cs in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and did a foundation degree in humanities, eventually scoring an average of 75 in my undergraduate sociology degree.
Since, I have gained a masters and then doctoral degree. A PhD that was funded by the ESRC, and supervised by one of the greatest scholars in the last five decades. The peak achievement of the English education system - the end goal of all tutoring, and dream of many tutee.
I was rejected automatically from this platform from not achieving a B or higher at A-Level. Which is a level 3 qualification. But I hold a level 8 qualification, and am certified to write the textbooks for a sociology class.
The support staff reaction when I pointed out the absurdity was to just quote "you did not meet our criteria", over and over. And I got a copy/paste response from the 'senior support staff'.
Robots most likely?
I changed my grades from medicore to exceptional. This makes me an idea tutor. My rejection here makes me question the integrity of this site and the people that it is recruiting.
Edit: I registered to teach undergraduate and post graduate. So the comment below makes no sense.
