⭐ 0/5 – Lufthansa ruined our trip – zero care for families
Our nightmare with Lufthansa started even before flying. Because of a confusing email mentioning that Lufthansa has a huge delay on the return and propose to get a refund, I thought I was only canceling my return ticket, but it canceled my entire booking. By the time I realized it (through support chat, just days before the flight), I had to purchase again but $1,000 more.
At the airport, things only got worse. We had a very short connection and yet had to wait far too long just to get our stroller back at the gate, knowing the gate was at the complete opposite end of the airport. My wife is pregnant, and we were traveling with our 1.5-year-old baby - but Lufthansa made no effort to speed things up or help us.
When we finally ran to the gate, exhausted, the staff wouldn’t wait even one minute for the rest of our family (who were traveling with us to help with the baby and pregnancy). Despite our begging and explaining, they shut the doors in our faces, and we had to continue the trip alone, without the family support we had planned for.
Then came the luggage disaster. One of our suitcases was left behind in Munich. Lufthansa insisted on delivering it only if we provided an Italian phone number - otherwise, no delivery. So no baby essentials (diapers, milk etc.) and everything was closed at this time. Completely unreasonable!
Finally, the onboard experience was terrible. Some staff were rude and dismissive, even telling us we were being “unpleasant” and “too stressed.” With a pregnant woman, a baby, and such short connections, of course we were stressed! The lack of empathy and even hints of antisemitism in the way we were treated were deeply shocking.
👉 Overall, Lufthansa showed no care for families, pregnant passengers, or even basic customer service. I would never recommend flying with them - especially if you are traveling with children or loved ones who need extra care.
