Review of Wikipedia

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The greatest invention of the internet age. I'm serious.

Literally one of the greatest things ever given to us by the internet. It isn't perfect, but the fact that we have free, ad-free access to a fount of human knowledge at the tip of our fingers whenever we want is truly amazing. I do not understand how anyone could disapprove of Wikipedia and I encourage everyone to donate, to keep it available and free, while you still can.

"Cancel anytime"

So here's the thing: I tried their free trial, then went to cancel, and couldn't. They have an "activation period" during which you can't cancel. It takes their lazy-butt website 24 hours to decide whether it wants to activate your subscription or not. This is shady, predatory, and false advertising.

Make no mistake: I never had any intention of signing up for the full product. I was always going to cancel on day 1, even if it turned out that for 56.87 euros a year I'd have access to infinite waffles, be able to see previously invisible colours and acquire a talking dog companion that farts Paco Rabanne. Yes, I was going to play the game, get my free SVG, and then cancel. You got me! But if *you* advertise a free trial which the customer can "cancel anytime", then it is my capitalism-given right to CANCEL ANYTIME.

So, thoroughly irritated, I decided to do some Googling - turns out they have lots of these little tricks! For example, there are many people complaining that their subscription got renewed by an extra year because they clicked a button on an ad by mistake. No pay page, no extra steps: 1 click. That'll be 47 bucks, please.

Or how about the fact that finding the "cancel subscription" page is a giant Easter egg hunt? I had to Google how to find them! It felt like checking Game FAQs, but instead of figuring out the solution to the Water Temple, I was just a p'd off 30-something who doesn't want to pay for SVG conversions. I still don't know how to reach the subscription tab from the home page.

OR or, how about how if you download more than 10 free files, instead of saying 'your trial period is up', they just instantly charge you for a year of their service. I mean, they've already got your PayPal, right? It'd be rude not to.

Also, heads up: Anna from CF is lurking these reviews, and she may well be in here right quick with a response. She'll say "we have an activation period of no more than 24 hours, after which you can cancel anytime." She might even admit that after 10 free downloads, they just charge you. I've seen her admit that in one response. She'll probably also offer to reach out. She won't explain *why* they have an activation period, though. She won't tell you *why* they don't stop you before the 11th download. Or maybe she will this time, now I've drawn attention to it? I'm pretty sure she's a replicant anyway, so let's see how well she deals with the prompt.

Anna, I don't want you to reach out. I want your company to stop the predatory tactics. I want you to acknowledge that your company is basically just hoping people forget their subscription and pay you 50 bucks by mistake. I want you to remember the child inside you who dreamt of being a veterinarian, not an apologist for fraudulent corporate tactics. And failing all that, I want a dog that farts Paco Rabanne. If you're not willing to grant me these simple requests, then kindly, don't respond.

Kind regards,
Jake

Great service, good quality, no complaints!

I've used this service many times, both as a private service (for making t-shirt and hoodies as gifts for my friends) and as professional service, selling t-shirts and hoodies for my business. Great service, good quality product, no complaints!
