Update
Updated 12/21/24. I was asked to provide additional information to Affirm through my email. I provided my name and phone number Affirm has on file. I did not expect a response/call because I do not have access to that number. (The reason Affirm locked me out of my account). This was in response to my first post. The second time I provided my name and my current phone number. I have NOT received a response since I provided the information Affirm asked for. AFFIRM I have tried to make payments and I cannot. Does a person who is trying to gain access to an account (who is not the account holder) consistently make phone calls with the same information over and over. Provide Affirm with email, social, past phone number, current address that you Affirm verify you are the account holder tell you you can be a person wanting access to make purchases. Affirm wouldn't said person go on to the next person on his/her list to try to gain access to another person on the list account. I am calling and waiting for Affirm to respond. I go through the process to update account phone number. I receive a code through my email Affirm has on file to verify it is me. I get the code and enter it. I am then asked to enter new phone number, I do and I receive a code on my phone. I enter the code. I am then asked again to provide driver's license, passport, or government ID. When I call Affirm I verify it is me and he/she ask for me to take a picture of forms of ID. I will not provide this information and if this is the only way to gain access to my account keep me locked out. You did not ask for any of this when I got the account you should not ask for it now. Affirm I realize now you do not want to receive payments. It is going on 3 months of non payment because you locked me out of my account. I wanted to change my phone number. It has been a headache since October. There has to be a better way Affirm.
Update. I checked my email 12/13/24 and I did not receive an email from Affirm security as I was told I would receive today when I spoke with Affirm rep on 12/12/24. I called Affirm (8th time) and went through the steps over again and the rep said I had to upload a driver's license (front & back), passport, or government ID and take a selfie. I told the rep I would not provide this information. The rep said I could be a person trying to access the account with the intent to make more purchases. I said what person calls for almost 2 months trying to update the phone number on file with the same information over and over to make payments that are now 2 months past due. I now have access to my email on file (got it back on 12/12/24) and I can see the reminders of non payment. I am told Affirm will send me to collection for non payment. Affirm first asked me to verify my identity with questions. The first question (supposedly the most recent information was used to identify me) was about a hunting license (I do not have a hunting license). The second question was a last name I used. ( I was never married). The third question was the numbers to my most recent address. I went back 16 years and none of the numbers matched. For all answers to the questions I answered none of the above. I was then asked to provide driver's license, passport, or government ID. Affirm, I have tried to fulfill my agreement and I am stumped as to how I can fix this. I will not give you a copy of my signature, or a picture of me. I did not use any of these when I got my account. Also, I was recently involved in fraud this is why my number and personal information was changed. I will not give my card information over the phone. I was advised by my financial institute not to do so.
