We decided to sell our car on Autotrader and uploaded the advert on Sunday evening. We had a call from Terry on Monday who made us an offer very close to the advertised price and offered to make a £500 deposit as a sign of intent. We sent various documents including service history and Terry came back quickly to reaffirm the offer. We must admit that in these days of scammers we did make some checks on line to see whether this was genuine as you do need to share personal details such as driving licence and bank account details. We chose to share the latter via phone call which we got from their website. We agreed a pick up date a few days later and we had contact from the pick up driver to say when he would be here to collect the car. He arrived as agreed and made a thorough check of the car and documents with the ID being rechecked by him to make sure we weren’t scammers (works both ways!) and once he had uploaded everything he took the car for a test drive. Around 10 minutes later he had confirmation that the payment had been approved and a few minutes after that the funds were received via faster payment into my account. We completed the V5 docs I was shown how to go online to DVLA and advise them of car sale and that was it. Very easy and efficient
