Had a phonecall advising that they could cover and service our system. We have Solar Thermal, Solar PV, Airsource heat pump and inverter and batteries. We advised that we had lost our Feed in tariff. Over the call they advised that they would be able to assist us in regaining the FIT and this was just a review. I advised that I did not want someone in my house for hours trying to get us to sign up to something. I was reassured that they were governed by regulations that do not allow this to happen. Well a guy turned up and seemed to be comfortable to be begin with. Very quickly he wanted to go through all of the systems and was finding faults everywhere. the Solar thermal needed to be recharged and serviced =£400 as part of a 10 year contract costing £4,000. He looked at our PV system and told me one of the strings was broken and work need to be conducted on the panels again a further £400 also as part of a 10 year contract costing a further £4,000. The heat pump was also going to be another £4,000 - 10 year contract.
When I said I needed time to think about all of this as it is a lot of money, he became a little aggressive in his attitude. He offered to do a 3 for 2 but we still said not at this moment. 2 hours he was in my home and I told him he was intimidatory and he had to leave.
A few days later he called and when I told him I had arranged for someone else to review our systems he was not pleasant. I told him again that I found his attitude intimidatory and hung up.
I have since, had all of my systems reviewed and found that they are all good, and the next service should be in 2 years time. We are looking into reinstating the FIT.
