The staff are always courteous , knowledgable and go the extra mile .
On line banking is so easy to use .
A cracking Building Society , streets ahead of the others .

SHAMELESS . When Housing Units failed to resolve my…

When Housing Units failed to resolve my complaint fairly, they recommended I went to the Furniture Ombudsman. What they failed to inform me is that the Furniture Ombudsman is funded by the businesses that they investigate. Housing Units is one of these funding companies. Therefore, what a surprise that they consistently side with companies such as Housing Units, which are the very reason for their existence. Check out the reviews on TrustPilot for the Furniture Ombudsman to see that what I’m saying is correct.
If you are unfortunate enough, like we were, to purchase a faulty product from Housing Units, don’t waste your time complaining to them or to the Furniture Ombudsman. Just NEVER, EVER shop there in the first place!

Housing Units is a member of the Furniture Ombudsman, designed to support our business and our customers. The Ombudsman is completely independent and impartial. Information is gathered from both parties, evidence is obtained, and a final decision is provided.

Being a member of the Furniture Ombudsman is a common practice for all furniture retailers.

All of the evidence was obtained from both ourselves and yourselves and a final decision was delivered in our favour. We consider this case now closed.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVCE EVER response to my review was exactly…

Your response to my review was exactly what I expected. Peppered with lies and inaccuracies, which are all, unsurprisingly, weighted in your favour. To clarify, the house was NOT a building site, it was being decorated. The fire is exactly where the delivery staff left it, it never went in the garage. The fire is extremely heavy and the garage is only single-skinned, and so we would never have moved it into there. Your inspection failed to spot the fact that it is an extremely poor paint finish, which is cracking and flaking. At no time did I say it was perfect, I did not look at the pieces whilst your technicians were at the house. Today, we have transported the faulty MDF surround to a paint specialist, who confirms, as has other specialists, that it is a failure in the paint application. At our cost, we are now having the surround repainted for £500. If this doesn’t put you off spending your hard-earned money with this point-scoring, appalling company, nothing will.

APPALLING AFTER SALES CUSTOMER NON SERVICE

We bought a very expensive fire from this corrupt cowboy outfit in the sale , giving us a small discount . The house was being renovated so asked if they could hold it for as long as possible , they hung on to it for a few months in their vast warehouse, then insisted we take delivery of it . At my request, I asked that they check it as we weren’t ready to have it fitted . They sent two thugs round who were so busy point scoring that after this visit we would not have a leg to stand on regarding any defects . What they failed to do was open one box that held the mdf surround . When we had a fitter recommended by them , to install it , he refused as the paintwork was of such a poor substandard finish . Paint peeling off , almost like it had been very badly scratched, some parts missing any paint at all . This is a company who once they have your cash you can whistle , they have put the blame on us it’s too hot / cold where it was stored , they were told absolutely not true it was in a centrally heated house , and anyway , it’s a fireplace what will happen when we switch it on . Oh then you’ve put something heavy on the box , again absolutely assured them this is not the case . Not interested , they said you’ll have to go to the furniture ombudsman . What they failed to tell me was they pay/ fund this outfit , reading the reviews they never come down on the companies who are responsible for their very existence . They won’t give me the name of the company who sprayed the surround , because they can’t renember .This I have in an email before they deny this . Furniture ombudsman thought that was a perfectly good explanation . Housing units said go to a upvc window company , they do lots of colours .Imagine a company having no interest in such poor service snd such a poor quality product . You couldn’t make it up . Please please do not buy anything from this shameful outfit . It used to be such a great store , not any more . As is the case , money and greed are now the company’s USP .

We have reviewed the notes and can confirm the following:

- Ordered 25/5/23, proposed date 04/07/23
- Goods arrived 16/6/23
- We agreed to hold until end of July at our cost.
- The beginning of August, we agreed to hold for a further month as you called to inform us that house was not ready and was like a building site, again at our cost.
- Delivery booked for 30/08. Upon delivery, you refused to check the product.
- 12/09 - We sent two technicians at our cost to visit your property and take the product out of the boxes and check it over with you. At this point, you agreed everything was perfect.

Our notes from the visits are:
- The house is undergoing extensive work and is currently a building site. The fire has been moved around since delivery and it was stored in the back of the garage. Complaint received on 18/12, 3 months after being inspected and accepted by yourself.

We cannot be held responsible for what has happened to the product during this time. The furniture ombudsman asked for all the related activity and reported that we were not at fault.

We hope that this details the events.

Still no word from John Lewis now £609 out of pocket and no dishwasher . Why say they will call and then don’t . You can’t call the stores , direct line to Manila or Morocco

Shocking customer service. Always been a huge fan of John Lewis but will not be using them again . Went to store thinking I would be given best advice on product . I was not given correct advice on 2 dishwashers that were the same price but advised to buy the older model . When I queried this , he assured me I had the best model . Then I was encouraged to leave the store and go home as hurricane Agnes was coming . The day before delivery I visited the store again to purchase dishwasher , tumble dryer and washing machine for my daughter . Same sales assistant , disinterested so left the store without purchases . Between order and delivery I did some research and found I should have been advised to buy the newer model , this within a few days had increased in price by £80 . 1 hour 43 minute call not to store , you can’t speak to anyone there , you speak to someone in Manila . I was assured it had to be dealt with in store and I would receive a call within 2 hours , curt E mail received 7 hours later saying they needed the name of the sales assistant for retraining , they had all this information with my order number .Nobody could be bothered to call . Tried to call the store , this time talking to a point scoring lady in Morocco . Take your hard earned money and spend it anywhere but do not spend it at John Lewis . A company that used to pride itself on excellent customer service . What a shame .

Do not go anywhere near this company

Do not go anywhere near this company . Ordered and paid for sample tiles , never got a call to say they were in despite being assured they would be in stock within 48 hours. Returned some distance to store to obtain my refund as tiles still not in and they now claim they can’t find transaction despite showing the receipt and same guy serving me . Now having to pursue through my credit card to get my money back . They assured me head office would ring me 5 days ago . Unsurprisingly not heard a word . Reading other reviews you would be mad to even step into their Salford store or any other for that matter .Absolutely disgraceful and they couldn’t care less .

Don’t buy anything from Wickes they…

Don’t buy anything from Wickes they delivered £500 of incorrect worktop , minimum wait of 2 hours to customer services then can’t/ won’t help. Will have to go down the legal route to get my money back . Please please do not deal with this shocking company .. Go to a reputable company , the stress this has caused and they couldn’t care less . Once they’ve got your money that’s it . Appalling .

Avoid using this at all costs

Avoid using this at all costs . You think you’ve paid them , they write to you to say their useless system didn’t take the payment, why let the barrier up then ? Then waste more money writing to you to tell you you haven’t paid , you pay and then they send a recovery team after you threatening everything from taking the money which now has increased by an additional £90 directly from your bank , putting a charge on your property or taking from your salary . Thieving , incompetent , grabbing fraudsters , and I paid the bill . Don’t say you haven’t been warned . Best legal scam . They must be making a fortune . Not this one .
