Review of Ooni Pizza Ovens

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Ooni Karu 2. Save your money and get something else

We already have an older Ooni oven and decided to buy a new, better model for my wife as a present.
The Karu 2 was a lot more expensive than other brands, but I thought the new design would provide lots of advantages.
Having used it a few times, I would say that you are better off buying a cheaper oven.

It seems that Ooni are all about cool website pictures, descriptions and digital content, but offer little real advantages over cheap ovens.

There are no printed user instructions included in the box. I contacted Ooni and I was told that they do not provide them. Everything is online, so you will have your top of the range oven with some cheap home printed instructions. Same goes for hints, recipes, etc. All online and nothing printed. At least the oven itself is real and not app. or downloadable gimmick.

The Karu 2 is listed as multi-fuel. Once we received it, we tried unsuccessfully to use wood pellets. Searching thought their website I found, buried under an FAW, the fact that this model will not work with wood pellets or charcoal briquettes. So much for "multi fuel"!

The thermometer fitted to the new model does not provide an actual temperature value, but just a number of dashes in green, yellow or red. There is no information anywhere on the actual temperature that each dash represents. This seems completely useless, since all the recipes ask you to reach a certain temperature value. I contacted Ooni and, again, was told that this is how it is and there is no better information available. Apparently the thermometer is for a "rough indication" only and they advised me to buy yet another of their gizmos to measure the temperature accurately.

A friend has a far cheaper oven that makes pizza just as good as the Ooni. The only advantage I can see of my over is that it is slightly more sturdy and it comes with a far nicer cardboard box. His oven came with professionally printed user instructions, but does not have a really cool webpage full of lovely pictures and downloads.

Review of Motocard

Another company that has gone from good to terrible...

Placed an order in June and one of the items I received was sent in the wrong size. I contacted Motocard and they asked me to return it using their online system.
The tacking showed that the trousers were delivered to their warehouse.
It is now over a month and I am still waiting for the replacement. I have contacted costumer services a few times and it is always "they will be sent soon". The trousers are shown as being in stock but apparently they now need to wait another 6 days to get them from the supplier.
I will not be using Motocard again. They were good a few years ago, but now all their energy goes into sending 10 emails a week advertising their latest discounts and they have zero interest in customer satisfaction.

Not a good experience

Item was listed as in stock, but a day after the order I recevied an email telling me that it was not in stock and a refund issued.
Never got a refund or a reply to my email, so I had to go through Paypal to get my money back.
After all this, the same item is still listed in their site as "in stock"!

Review of Thermae Bath Spa

Never again, total lack of customer care

Bought two vouchers over a year ago for my wife and daughter to get a spa day and a treatment. My wife has been trying to book a date for 12 months and they never have anything available (cannot book online, only phone!)
Have written numerous email to customer services and never got a reply.
An absolute waist of money.. I recommend to anyone who will listen not to give their money to this company and to look elsewhere.
