It started well, the salesman was great even though he had not worked in the store for long, knowledgable and helpful without being pushy. So good in fact that after a weeks deliberation we returned and parted with just over £3500 (full price) for 2 two seater sofas and a few pieces of oak furniture, this was early October 2021. Told that the sofas would be arriving end of February 2022 and that the oak would be delivered early December. To achieve this we did need to pay the £100 split delivery fee. Seemed a bit steep, but with the additional benefits of delivery to the room of our choice and removal of packaging; there was also the fact there was no other choice!
When we hadnt heard got a date for the November delivery, we phoned the store. "Sorry, we didnt split the order" OK human error, although try explaining that to the wife when she wanted the furniture in place for Christmas.
A new delivery date was set, 4th January, and true to their word the lorry arrived at 7am and the delivery men were brilliant and deserved the tip, even though the main driver explained that the top section of the Welsh dresser was not on the lorry. No explanation as to why not, or when I could expect the missing piece; I would have to phone the customer line.
Anyone reading this who has tried to call Oak Furniture Land customer service will know that this is not exactly a 5 minute wait.
I know this as I have had cause to phone them a total of 5 times, on 3 occasions because they have rebooked delivery of the missing top, only for them to cancel the due date 48hrs before delivery.
The latest phone call to them was, despite a call confirming the settees would be arriving in the UK on the 19th Feb and delivered on the 7th March, I have now been told they will not!!
No guarantee of when they will arrive, I have a delivery revised delivery date of 30th March, but they couldnt guarantee this. I think nearly 6 months is perhaps a tad too long. I understand the pandemic has, and continues to, affect deliveries, however it should not affect the ability of a company to know what is being made, when it is expected to be shipped, and subsequently delivered.
I have been refunded the delivery charge and now 5% of my total bill, as a good will gesture.
I have been offered a refund on the furniture I have not yet received, I have yet to concede defeat, as I want the items I ordered.
In hindsight I will not be paying full price for anything in the future, a deposit is fine and full balance payment when I get a guaranteed delivery date - something this store does not offer.
Such a shame as the intitial contact and quality of furniture that has been delivered is good.
Just the atrocious customer service and the inability of the company to manage their customers expectations. Is it that hard to give realistic delievry dates?
Not sure how many people will read this far, if you have I wish you luck with your delivery.
I have received a reply from OFL, this was asking for my order number and phone number to discuss my experience. Will report back on this later.

Visited the showroom and cannot fault the service, especially over the 7 days between our visits, where prices of the furniture we bought fluctuated.
Good knowledge by the salesman, without the pushy attitude shown by other stores.
Fingers crossed that delivery and goods meets this rating.
