I have been on SL for nine years. The negative is it can be a little daunting when you first arrive and dont know how to do things. I was lucky in that someone gave me a few pointers. It is a comunity and is a second life and has great things to do such as sailing and flying , live performeres and lots of varied comunities. Yes some are adult but you dont have to go their just like the real world. I have not tried to make money on SL and I spend money because I wnat a super avatar and like my fashion with hundreds of clothing stores. I alos pay for a beach side home. Just keep to a budget. I have never been scammed and you just have to be careful like in the real world. The quality of the graphics is constantly improving and is good enough for me . I have made friend with people all over the world. Its a great social place and tought me about other cultures. Because its global you find things get busy at certain times depending what time zones your in. I love it . Its not for everyone but ticks my boxes.

I have been on Second Life for over five years and am online most days . Its a great way to meet people from all over the world , interact, chat , dance and more adult if you wish. Its not a childs game but a Virtual world for teenagers and adults. There are some very adult areas but they are marked as such and strict rules which I find are enforced byt he club and sim owners as they will get booted if they dont. I have made many friends . It is not a game and if your looking for a game with a goal then its not for you. It is a free virtual world where you can build houses, go water skiing , sail boats , visit clubs or build your own and hire DJs . There are theme parks, race tracks . you name it somewhere on Second Life it exists. It is huge even having seas to sail on .It is a second world and its free to look around and start your journey but to get the best you do need to spend a bit but less than most games to experience the full thing. Its now getting more popular as technical enhancements are coming through. there are live performances on second life and people can make money. I have noticed more investment , more technical changes to improve graphics and reduce resource requirements. I am sure there is something out their with better graphics but they are good enough for me and can be very realistic if you spend a little and devote some time to your avatar. I started with just a normal laptop and it ran well enough but a more games spec machine is ideal. Even then you will get lag occasionally if the sim is heavily populated. Nothing is perfect but 95% of the time it runs very well. However you dont need a high end one like some but it would be better still. I dont think it can be beaten on user experience. Nothing is perfect and we all moan occasionally about something but I am very happy and have stayed for six years and many more as its user count is climbing again. There are some reviews here of people thrown off second life because it is policed and that to me is a good thing. The more effort you put into it the greater the reward. Its isnt a game and its isnt a dating site. Its a complete social world. Something the so called competitors, and I have looked at a few , are not. Its built by the users so is always evolving.
Just a PS I have just seen a review by AD who slags second life off and says people like me know nothing. I have been on almost every day for 6 years. This terrible Second life according to them they used for 14 years! Who would use for 14 years something they didnt like?
