Stranded

I was involved in a road traffic accident where a third party pulled out into my lane causing a non fault accident. My vehicle was not fit to drive home and needed recovery.

I called the RAC first who refused to help as they only cover breakdowns and not accidents.
I then called the insurance 24hour claim line for assistance, I spoke to a gentleman who confirmed my identity and arranged recovery of my vehicle.

Two hours later I am still at the scene of the accident , the third party has been recovered and I am blocking a road.

I called the 24 hour claim line again to be informed they had no record of the previous conversation.

I spoke to a lady who would NOT arrange recovery until all the details of the accident had been conveyed to her , this took around 30 minutes, then I was informed that to have recovery quicker I must make a claim on my own insurance as a blameworthy accident, the they will look to recover costs for me. Had I not agreed to this I would still be there
now.

Recovery was made after another 2 hours wait , I spent 5 hours at the scene of an accident waiting for assistance, to make things worse the recovery agent was informed to take me to the nearest bus stop or station to make my own way home.

Lucky I was 14 miles away from home and not 200 !

Not impressed.......
