Terrible case management, rude, indirect service. They don't care.

I am currently six weeks into my remortgage with L&C and am extremely frustrated, not least because I have been in possession of my mortgage offer from the lender for two days now and nobody at L&C appears to be aware of this. I'm at a stage where I really want to progress matters as we are stuck on an SVR with our previous lender, but they are completely disinterested. Having spoken to the lender, it also appears that they requested a lot of information that 'was needed for the lender' that was of no relevance to them at all, which delayed the application process. I have been contacted directly just twice by my case manager since the application process began. Everything else has to go through a password protected portal which is difficult for me to use as I travel a lot for work, where any query I submit is usually answered by someone I have never dealt with before. I will use a different broker when my remortgage is due in five years and will never use L&C again, as I would much rather speak to a company where, as a customer, I am treated with a greater level of respect and urgency, and where my emails don't disappear into an unanswered void. Also, their email addresses do not accept attachments – the only way you can pass important (and sometimes urgent) documents over is via their dratted portal. Neither friendly, nor user-friendly. Companies need to remember where their revenues come from and make their customers feel valued, instead of making it feel like they're doing you a huge favour by selling you a large loan on which they get a nice kickback. I just hope the conveyancing process on what should be a straightforward remortgage isn't as soul-destroying as dealing with the broker. Sorry guys, a big customer service fail and where recommendations are concerned, it's a no from me.

For three years we have been trying to…

For three years we have been trying to process a change of tenancy with BES utilities. They have had all the documentation required.

They call me EVERY DAY insisting there is still information missing but we have sent them everything required on more than one occasion. We’re stuck in a contract we can’t get out of at their deemed rate as nobody in the company has a clue what they are doing.

Essentially my business took over another business three years ago and we have been trying EVER SINCE to get them to recognise this. It’s almost as if business takeovers never happen. An absolute shower of a company who cannot do the simplest of things.

Daylight robbery

One4all declined a transaction at a retailer (Boots) but still deducted £30 from the card balance. They have sent me an online form to fill in four times, I’ve sent proof of payment declined. They are still refusing to reimburse my money so, in essence, have stolen my money and I will be pursuing the matter via the Financial Ombudsman Service. It may only be thirty quid but it’s still theft.

I’ve sold seven cars now with C&C

I’ve sold seven cars now with C&C. It’s not the cheapest way to sell a car but for an enthusiasts’ vehicle it’s by far the best.

Simple, straightforward, friendly service from people who care about their customers and their cars.

Caught out by a ridiculous AUTO-RENEWAL…

Caught out by a ridiculous AUTO-RENEWAL trap where the company has decided I owe them £2,000 for a service I don't use, don't want and haven't used for over six months. Tried to cancel before my contract ended but was told I needed to have done so three months earlier. Unethical, immoral and completely inhuman in their customer interface where treating micro-businesses is concerned. If zero stars were an option I wouldn't even give them that as I wouldn't want any other businesses staring financial hardship in the face because of their utter greed.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service, never reply to emails, call system blocks you out after 40 minutes on hold and the supposedly super fast broadband appears to rely on hamsters on wheels. I would never use Virgin again but am trapped in a contract. Plus, if you call them to cancel you get cut off...
