Staff are not safe near small children

I visit the Portsmouth Hilsea Toby Csrvery every Tuesday evening with my 5 year old boy after his karate club as a treat. We order at the bar, before siting in the front area to the side of the bar as you don’t need to book.

Today, we sat in our usual spot but the place was very busy. Half way through our meal, the most rude and unpleasant man (Jack) approached the table and in a loud voice for the benefit of the whole restaurant, said that we had not booked and were siting in the wrong place.

The table was quite some way apart from the restaurant, the other side of the enterance area, and next to the bar. That area was not clear at all to be a part of the restaurant opposite. We had been told to order at the bar and it in that area.

Instead of politely telling us we had sat in a satellite area of the restaurant to eat our carvery and being offering help to move. He approached in an aggressive manner and told us, we were not allowed to sit there and had 15 minutes to finish our food and leave. No explanation, no offer to help us relocate. When I politely explained that we always sat there and did not know it was part of the restaurant, and were half way through our meals, he became even more aggressive and told us, we had 15 minutes or he would be calling the police to have both myself and my 5 year old child “ forcibly removed from the restaurant”

My son was very scared and did not want the rest of his dinner, so we left.

Imagine threatening a small child that he would be forcibly removed if he took more than 15 minutes to eat his dinner…. We were so shocked.

Advertised as family friendly but I believe Jack should be nowhere near small children.

Terrible customer service with swimming…

Terrible customer service with swimming lessons. Our 5 year old l has swimming lessons there but they often cancel them on the day without even contacting the kids, so we all arrive and are told in a rather off hand way to come back next week. Arrived today (Sunday at 8am) to be told the session is cancelled due to staffing levels
If they cancel a session they won’t call to let you know, and won’t book your child into a later session. It’s so rude.

They did exactly the same thing on Easter Sunday. Everyone got up early to come in, only to be told no swimming lesson today.

Review of Avis Car Rental

Avoid at all costs

Terrible service. Booked and paid for a car rental on 9th May via Amex using reward points. When our family arrived at the airport, we were told there was no car available and I should reach out to Amex for a refund. No reason was given. Just a note on the system saying Do Not Rent. I phoned Avis and was told it must be an error on their system but the rental could not take place. No refund was given although it was paid in full months ago.

Had to rent a car with another company and now doing a small claims court case against Avis to recover the paid funds and consequential loss. If you rent with Avis be aware you can turn up and find there is no car for you.

BEWARE: Charged £26.39 as a scam

Charged £26.39 as a scam saying car was returned short of petrol. Complained and shows evidence as we filled it just before dropping it off. Told i would be refunded, but only £21 returned. Having to do a chargeback on my amex on monday to get a full refund

Scam company

Scam company. Ordered a VR battery headset. It arrived broken and clearly a pirate copy drop shipped in from China I contacted buy2fix, and they said I should ship it to a company in China at my cost for them to look at. I should also pay customs fees to return it. Beware, if you order from these guys, they don't care about the consumer act at all. In the end, I am taking them though small claims court to recover the funds

WARNING - They double charge your card

WARNING - Took multiple payments from our debit card and refuse to refund. Had to do chargebacks.

Tried to order some Vit C Tablets on the 19th June. The payment page froze each time so I gave up. Then found I have had 3 transactions of £23.89 taken from my account. Contacted Savers.co.uk by email support ( No telephone number which should have been a bit of a reg flag) and was told they have no orders from me and no payments received. I contacted my bank and they confirmed all 3 had been authorised and not just in 'pending'. I emailed savers.co.uk screenshots of my bank app to show 3 cleared payments. They stopped responding and are not actioning any refund. I had to contact Mastercard to start 3 chargebacks and send them over the emails showing savers brushing the issue away. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere.

Scammed by this website

Scammed by this website. Ordered a Sauna Blanked for £431.20 and a cloth insert for £79.20 Sadly the sauna blanket was faulty, so contacted beauty bay who sent a return shipping label. Good? Nope... Once they received the shipment back they only refunded the £79.20 and have not replied to any emails or live chat requests since... Notice there is no phone number for customer support if you want another red flag. I've had to contact Amex to do a chargeback. Such a shame.

See their reply below.. just lip service. They never bothered to contact me to sort the issue… Paypal ruled in our favour and refunded me in full after no response from them. We now shop at Sephora which has a better range and WAY better customer service.

Had to force a refund from them through a third party

Food arrived with items missing... not ubereats fault but the issue is how they look after you if a problem happens. They brushed me off and refused to even refund the missing parts of the order. Luckily I paid using PayPal who refunded me in full after ubereats never bothered to reply to the dispute.

I basically had to force a refund from them...

I now stick to justeat instead.
