Good service & communication. Only Fair parts availability on Coleman.
One of two places that provides a very good supply of old Coleman liquid gas Lantern and Stove parts, since Coleman itself is no longer selling parts directly. eReplacementparts.com does a good job, but unfortunately one's overall success with them is still tempered by Coleman's parts availability supply to seller's, and that has just become downright terrible. Coleman is clearly walking away from parts supply for maintenance of the old liquid fueled Lanterns, Stoves, and Heaters that made them famous and ubiquitous. So for many parts (even on units STILL IN PRODUCTION), you often cannot get them anywhere, even here at the Coleman recommended dealer eReplacementparts.com. eRe..com does a great job, they are honest about what is in stock, what is not, what goes on backorder, and what cannot even be ordered. But backorder's really just go back to Coleman, who provides no availability estimates for anything, and who seem unwilling to supply their dealers with parts on backorder, EVEN FOR STILL IN PRODUCTION models. (Like the Sportster II 533 stove). Coleman still sells this actively through online sellers and in-person Sporting Goods stores, but they don't even supply replacement generators to eReplacementparts.com, or replacement stamped steal top grates for this in production model. So, while I think that eReplacementparts.com itself does a fine job (even on communication of the crappy situation), the overall success to the customer is more like a 3 star result, sometimes good, sometimes not, depending on Coleman's parts supplies. I guess I can hold eReplacementparts.com a little bit responsible, and so I docked them a star. They could order and hold large inventories, to cover over Coleman's unwillingness to do the same, and then charge twice as much for parts, to make up for the carrying costs, and the stranded inventory for poor sellers. But instead, they try to offer a good price (critical online sales, or on person sales these days), with a reasonable amount of stock held, and expect the vendor (Coleman) to actually provide parts now and again. Coleman seems uninterested in that, so together eReplacementparts.com gets a 4, and Coleman gets a 2. (They still sell some parts, so its a 2. Try and buy a Harbor Freight part, you cannot.... That is a 1 or zero in my book. Coleman has fallen from a 5 to a 2 in the year 2020, and taken eReplacementparts.com down from a 5 to a 4 with their negative drag.) Too bad.
