The 2 points are because Holiday Cars…is cheap but the website and customer service are lacking.
The 2 points are because Holiday Cars is a good value and they gave me credit rather than just keeping my deposit when I had to cancel my rental a few months ago. A refund, of course, would have been preferred, but all travel businesses are struggling, so I understand that. The lack of additional stars is because the website has some flaws, including the Forget Password link which takes you a page that asks you to enter the password you have forgotten, then it asks you to enter the new password. However, it won't allow you to only enter the new password. The log-in fails because you didn't enter the forgotten password. It took 3 attempts through customer service to get a proper link that only allowed for a password reset and then be able to use the reset password to enter the site. This is a pretty major flaw. I also was disappointed that I couldn't use my credit to cover the cost of a new rental booking that I made, just the deposit. The rest I have to pay at the rental counter out of pocket. I still don't entirely know if this company is legitimate. I do find it strange that the business hours for a travel-related company is only Monday-Friday, 9-5 "all US time zones" (what does that mean? if I call from CA at 8 a.m. will the call be answered because it's 9 a.m. in CO?). People travel all days of the week and at all times, so I just have to hope that when I pick up my rental that I don't have any problems because no one may be available.
