Annoying problem with inconsistant internet signal..
I contacted Hometelecom on 21/8/19 as I was having trouble with inconsistent internet. I spoke to Recardo, who went through testing my router, finding it ok, so he contacted BT to check the line. I went away for a few days and on my return my phone had a couple of messages from 29/8 saying that the line had been checked and no fault found. I contacted Mairaj on 2/9 as he had asked me to call if there was still a problem, I called him and he gave me a website to open so we could check my router....it was very helpful as my download speed was 8.17 Mbps before he did something to it from his end (this was just on the edge of broadband for this area of 8MB-16MB). Using speedtest performance tester he managed to get my broadband speed up to 12.62 Mbts, which is about halfway of the area broadband .I'm a 66 yr old pensioner and not very IT savvy, but he was very patient with me. Mairaj also recommended that I buy a new microfilter, I can also go to the speedtester anytime on my own to check my download speed, which is very helpful. Both lads were courteous and patient with me and I learnt quite a bit....Thanks guys! Christina
