Sales people seem trained or forced by…

Sales people seem trained or forced by policy to ask many unnecessary questions, even if a customer knows exactly what they want and insist that that's all.

The need to go to a separate counter to confirm an order and inquire about any need for credit is over the top and a waste of time for anyone who knows exactly what they want and can pay up front.

Less important but equally frustrating is the need to wait for a delivery call to confirm a time...even if you know what times work and don't work.

In my case I asked a friend to come by my house and wait for delivery...because the delivery company said 9 to 12 am window. I knew I could not accept delivery at that time and needed a friends help. Got a call on delivery day at or near 12 PM stating I would get delivery in 10 minutes (10 minutes late after wondow). To make matters worse, one of the pieces I ordered as part of a set, was damaged. Now I am stuck waiting another 2 days (based on delivery rep on phone) and can only "request" afternoon based on my schedule. Meaning it's just a request even though it was delivered damaged.
