Appalling customer service. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
I'm not one to write negative reviews as a former customer service advisor, I know how difficult it can get but my experience with the Customer Service at The Couture Club was very shocking and left me feeling very upset. Charlotte, the Customer Services Manager is who I spoke to and she was very unprofessional, rude, and unfair throughout my conversations with her on their Live Chat and email.
I was enquiring as to why an order I had returned was sent back to me. Charlotte explained that it was received outside of the 14-day return policy so was rejected. However, she mentioned a 28-day return period (for an exchange to a gift card instead of a refund) that is not stated on the website but is sometimes done out of goodwill and choice. (I reiterated my understanding of this on multiple occasions during our exchange, but she kept repeating that I was too late even though it was out of my control, as explained below.)
I looked into previous emails detailing when I returned the item and when I had received it. I found out it was returned by myself well within the 28 day period on the 1st of June, so it had a total of 10 days to be collected and received by them. Charlotte advised that it had not been processed or recieved until 23rd of June which is out of both refund and gift card periods. I explained to her that while I now understood that I am no longer entitled to a refund, considering I did EVERYTHING in my control to return it before the end of the 28 day window, surely it is not my fault that it was not received until the 23rd? There is no way I could have sped up the time between 1/06/23 and 23/06/23, as far as I knew, the return had been collected and was being shipped successfully well before the 23rd.
She previously mentioned sometimes a gift card is issued based on choice and goodwill, so I asked her why this couldn't be done considering everything was so out of my control and I did everything I could. She proceeded to rudely reply stating information I already stated I understood repeatedly, refusing to acknowledge how it was not in fact my fault.
My question is why dangle the chance of a gift card out of the goodwill she obviously doesn't have if she knew she was never going to issue the giftcard anyway????
This is the worst brand experience I have EVER had and I'm very upset and anxious as a result. Don't shop here and don't bother contacting their customer service as you won't be listened to, and you'll be treated poorly.
