Review of American Golf
Looked after quite well, prices reasonable and nobody hurried me.
Review of DPD
Prompt, polite, efficient (to be absolutely clear) this was the French operation in France not the UK operation which is nothing short of dreadful.
Review of Boots
Bought some nail treatment at just less than £25 at Sudbury Boots. The applicator is just like a felt pen but mine when opened for the first time was just like a dried up felt pen! Very little moisture no good at all. Took it back and told it was perfectly ok and the don't refund on this type of product. Moral, don't buy from Boots! I won't ever again.
Review of Boulanger
Bought and paid for a dishwasher on line. I received paperwork to confirm this then nothing else. I was led to expect that I would be advised of the delivery the next day. After contacting them it appeared that the appliance was not in stock and a date effectively 4 weeks after the order was agreed. It turned up without proper notification after 3 weeks. It was installed but later after dark two dents in the door became apparent in artificial light.

Review of Second Nature
This not a rubbish programme and beneficial in part but it is pretty unrealistic long term. The big thing is that the programme is a "change of lifestyle" rather than a diet because diets are a temporary thing whereas changing your life isn't, so fair enough, sounds good. The apparent tie up with the NHS is impressive too. So you sign up, pay and it feels a bit like your first day at school, you introduce yourself to the group, you get your cheap fitbit look alike and some scales and both connect to your app except they don't, well not without tedious amounts of encouragement. The menu book comes and the recipes are OKish, some use odd stuff you'll have to buy especially but not bad and to start with you go along with it. The only thing is you have to do, if you're going to follow the programme properly, is prepare 3 proper meals a day. You can't reach into a cupboard and dump it into a bowl and pop some milk on it. Noooo you have to cook something nutritious which is great but not always practical. You start OK but quickly become a potential escapee looking for easy wins to suit your life style but you can't. After two weeks you do grab the shreddies for breakfast and feel guilty like you've killed a small child. They don't get this as I asked what I could just grab for a quick meal to suit a busy life but it isn't really possible because the food like that is "refined" and therefore like eating rat poison. There is no guidance on portions either so you eat your big plateful of a nutritious goodness and surprise, surprise you lose weight but very, very slowly. No portions, no allowances for a weekend blow out, no points, no calories. They discourage chocolate (obviously) except in the sort of mouse portions that will never satisfy you and alcohol too. I like the Weight Watcher philosophy better, do some exercise, get points then drink them! Just don't do it everyday which is common sense, and if you do you need a group and not a diet, and it allows for the human being in you to well.... be a human being. After 4 weeks I wanted to scream "I am a free man, I am not a number" because I felt I was being imprisoned by the regime. The group leader was a studied calm lady who wanted to know how we feeeel about things and what did we think about the articles you have to read everyday and I just wanted to have them get on and pass the Coolaid so I could be done with it. I did get fitter I'll give them that and so I sleep better as a result which is, for me at least, not to be sniffed at but at the end of 4 weeks I panicked and asked what my commitment was just to see what the options were. Instant response, to be fair, to the effect that I'd have to stick it out and pay the full whack. This was hastily overturned by the powers that be after what may have been the intervention of my team leader who must have indicated they needed me to leave so as not to disturb the sheep. I was out, refunded for a blood test I never go around to doing and nothing to pay just leave, cancelled, out. I'm happy with this. For some this is great, if you have any degree of non conformism like me you'll hate it eventually. It's a shame as this could be a really good programme if some sort of forgiving principles could be integrated. So if you have to count sheep before you get to sleep have been known to "bah" occasionally and are afraid of dogs this may just be for you. Good luck if it is!

Review of Get Laid Beds
Turned up on time, fitted together well, joints not too sloppy or impossibly tight. Correct number of bits seems fine, but yet to have somebody sleep on it as it's in our French home!
Review of Toolstation
Needed a Radon Sump to send to France so as not to hold up a job we are working on there. These are as rare as Chicken teeth off the shelf and impossible in France and I got one ordered after normnal working hours to my door in less than 24hours from Toolsation then in France by UPS in less than 24 hours. Thanks Toolstation for saving my bacon!
Review of Whirlpool Service
Wow what a long time to sort out our latest breakdown! We reported the fact that our American style Fridge Freezer was broken down and then they arrive to look at it several days later to find it needed a part. Two days after that they come with the part and it lasts for an hour after the guy left. So we report it again and this time beg them to send a guy with a part. He turns up several days later and fits it and an hour later it's gone again. Report it again and beg them to send a man with the other part it could be and several days later he comes with it and finally it's fixed!!!!! Lovely polite guys just didn't want to see so much of them.
