Avoid as a landlord

Some good people at branches but really lacks when it comes to property management.Management staff lack common decency of returning calls, reading emails, professional courtsy and worst of all common sense. They fail to understand relatively simple regulations that they should be champions at. Every few montsh there is some or the other catastrophe caused by their negligence - be it the lack of sense in following protocol or compliance team being plain stubborn even when presented with black and white evidence of their mistakes. Have suffered with them for a few years but wouldn't recommend at all.

Incorrect stock levels, misleading comms, another version of mis-selling accessories

Bought a camera and accessories bundle after confirming it said in stock and could be delivered within 3-5 days. Started receiving tracking details within a day and the actual package within 3 days. Lo and behold! It did not have the camera but just the accessories! At no stage did they inform that the camera was not in stock. I had to call and check and was informed that it was not in stock for next few weeks. While I was allowed to cancel the order for camera, I was told that the accessories would have to be sent back at my own expense ! Definitely avoiding them in future.

Edit following Jessops response :
This is definitely too little too late. I had to go on an urgent buying spree because Jessops left me high and dry after keeping me in the dark for 3 days about the camera not being delivered in time. At the end of the day, I was able to find it elsewhere but not able to use their package deal because I didn't want to spend money returning the accessory pack to Jessops.

I can see that at the time you placed your order, the camera and accessories were in stock. Unfortunately, the stock of your chosen camera was held at one of our stores, which is why the film was delivered separately.

Our stores would normally send the camera separately, but I can now see that you have since cancelled your order for the camera.

I feel fobbed off by Martin and team

I feel fobbed off by Martin and team. For one, they just cleared off all the faults on my car and returned it suggesting I ‘keep an eye’. Totally ignored all physical evidence of oil leakage that should also have been apparent from the low oil warnings that they cleared. No wonder my car had serious engine damage. When contacted, both Lee and Martin were really rude, confrontational and didn’t even give a chance to talk over phone. Will be complaining to the regulatory bodies.

[Edit post garage's reply] As is evident, owner has no logical response for lack of quality in service nor willingness to accept feedback and take ownership. Rather than accept mistake they are making baseless personal accusations. They have not responded to formal emails as well as a letter by post. They have caused me damage in thousands and will be taking them to court if need be.

Xl cave bed - promising concept, poor execution.

I bought an xl size cave bed after getting a recommendation based on dog breed and size but it seems like a Large would have been big enough.
Moreover, the cave mechanism is a good idea but implementation seems to be lacking as it flops down very easily, leaving the dog no choice but to sit on top. Everytime I see her not inside the “cave” i get a tinge of sadness on having spent an extra £25 odd for a feature that will rarely be used.

Inconsistent mihome smart plugs

The new mihome smartplugs are inconsistent and don’t retain their settings. Some of them would suddenly stop responding to the app. The timer settings on the app are also unintuitive and don’t respond very well.

Customer support too slow, no valid escalation route.

I’ve been requested to edit my review, possibly for getting a resolution for my issue. While it’s true that the staff I finally got attention from was helpful to bring it to a somewhat agreeable solution, fact it it was an issue that shouldn’t have arisen in the first place if -
1) Customer services were more attentive and did their job
2) they made sure policies of stores aligned with their commitments
3) their was an escalation path available by phone or Twitter.

I literally ran from pillar to post, trying to escalate through some good soul who would hear me out.
I’ve been using them for past 10 years and most probably will stick with the physical stores but avoid getting stuck with their customer support.


Original review - The lense I bought was faulty and had to be returned. The return was processed quite quickly in a shop but now I don’t want to order the same model online as I’m not sure if they would simply send me the same faulty piece I returned without sufficient quality checks.

Be rest assured, once the item has been recognized as faulty, it is sent for repairs and only once all the checks are completed and deemed that the product is in a sellable condition, it is put back on sale.

Avoid

Used them as a lanlord for a good 3 years and they’ve gone from good to worse! The branch and back office have no coordination. Back office and back office have no coordination either. Management is non existent. Escalations dont work. Staff is rude. Good riddance to me and Avoid is the only A thing for them.

customer service without a shred of politeness

Made a flight booking. The email and a call back to confirm payment details promised an eticket within the next 24 hours.
The eticket didnt come for next 2 days. Called up at the number and was NOT greeted by someone called Fahad (name had to be asked). Throughout the call he made it pretty clear that he didnt like either me or his job or both. Questions were thrown ("tell me your booking id". "Who's the passenger?" etc) No apologies for the non-delivery of the eticket but and order to "check your email". Foolishly or bravely, I asked another question about changing a flight and was almost reprimanded for even thinking about it.

Stay away.

Wrong item, zero customer support

The title says it all. They sent the wrong item - a more expensive one but of no use to me. I have sent multiple emails, complained via PayPal, Twitter and Facebook. They haven't come back to me yet ! For some reason they have no customer support number.
