I purchased Plan7Architect because I wanted to design my own home renovation project without paying thousands for an architect’s software license. To my surprise, the program feels just as powerful as the big-name CAD systems I used briefly in the past, but it’s much easier to navigate. I especially like the ability to quickly switch between 2D drafting and 3D visualization. Being able to “walk through” my design before committing to construction has saved me a lot of uncertainty and will probably save me real money too. Another major plus is the lifetime license – no subscriptions, no recurring fees, just a one-time investment that I can use on multiple computers. For someone like me, who values long-term tools, that’s worth a lot.
