Always consistent clipping paths with variation options. Single to outline an object and multiple if you want specific things isolated like colors, etc. are the ones I use the most. If you have a subject that is transparent and choose to have your final files delivered on a transparent background they will isolate the area that would be able see something through it and adjust the transparency in those sections for you so when you drop it on your end background it shows through.
