I had bad experiences with two local transmission shops in Albany, GA which prompted me to search out a better solution when my 2011 Ford Escape needed a new transmission. Since there are no more "new" transmissions available for my model vehicle, my only other choice after a previous failed rebuild was to go with a re-manufactured transmission, and Street Smart Transmissions had great ratings as well as a great staff who were willing to work with me to get the transmission I needed on acceptable terms. After installation, all I can say is that this was money well spent - this transmission performs much like when the vehicle was new, and the ride is smoother and much quieter. This is the only way I will ever approach a major transmission repair ever again - no more rebuilds, re-manufactured is the better solution, and with a 5 year warranty, I feel I have peace of mind as well as a solid product.
