If retinol burn is played down, don't walk, RUN

I've reacted so badly to this snake oil cream of yours and even after taking all your advice, I still react badly to it. I have to take such long breaks between using the cream that I'm still not through the first tube I received in January, but it's now past its expiry date. When I raised the issue with someone from your team, they recommended everything I've already done and that I should buy ANOTHER cream from you guys to combat the side effects I'm facing - which is rich!

After telling them that I had no intention of spending more money with them or risking any other creams on my skin from this brand, as well as explaining that I had already done everything suggested, I just got radio silence.

I'm now on day 11 after using your cream for the last time, and still wake up with horrible, itchy, flaky, and tight skin. I feel like a lizard shedding its skin and am too embarrassed to go out of the house. With such a long recovery period I'm now panicking that I may have caused permanent damage to my skin from using your hyperpigmentation stuff.

Hello Kelly

Thank you for taking the time to share insights of your experience so far. We look forward to supporting you further to achieve your skin goals!

When you first start using prescription topical treatment, you may notice your skin becoming red and flaky as you have described. The treatments can also make your skin feel dry and tight as well as give you a burning, itching, or stinging sensation.

If the dryness, peeling, and/or redness are still uncomfortable for you, try applying your moisturizer first, waiting 3-5 minutes for it to absorb, and then apply your topical treatment to your face.
Alternatively, you can minimise any peeling by using the product every other night
Please be advised that with your first treatment you will receive a treatment guide that will explain how to integrate your Dermatica treatment into your routine, this guide will also contain some handy tips to minimise any side effects that you may experience. Every skin and its journey is different. Sometimes dryness, itchiness and redness is a part of the process your skin needs to go through to get the results

Some patient's experience side effects whilst others do not. Peeling is expected with retinoid use, a member of our Clincal team has responded to your email to ensure that we can resolve this without further delay for you and offer you some further guidance. We would like to ask that you review this at your convenience.

We look forward to supporting you further to achieve your skin goals!

Take care
