Went with Goldcar as was the cheapest through a comparison site. €140 for 6 days sounded great.

But should have done more research... £1400 pre auth on credit card needed on arrival.

Cant do it on debit card so was pressured into buying extra 'worry free' insurance I didn't want. €130

Then €160 fuel deposit (That is ok on debit card!?)

Then €60 for a child booster seat (ours at home was £25 from halfords, would have been cheaper to check one in).

Out of hours service fee €40 (the kiosk was fully open with 4 members of staff on!?)

Add taxes etc and the amount on my card taken on arrival was over €500 euros.

Staff were very friendly and got served quickly at 11pm at night.

Got a larger SUV style car than originally asked for due to availability with a sunroof and all mod cons which was nice, but it wasn't particularly clean inside or out and its 1l engine was drastically under powered for Spanish hills.

Drop off easy, fuel deposit paid back into account 2 days later.
