BEWARE not based in the UK with US return address

BEWARE. I purchased an RX0 II which arrived not as described (open and most probably used). When we received the parcel, the box was not sealed and it looked like it was re-packed by someone. When I tried to return they only gave me a US address for the return and asked me to pay for the shipping. I have opened a dispute with my credit card.
This is a fraudulent website.
Their website is selling in the UK and there was no indication whatsoever that the returns should have been forwarded to a US address.

As a seller it should be their responsibility not to mislead the customers. Their website contains several misleading features.

- It has a .co.uk domain.
- It contains a UK address and a UK phone number.
- The terms and conditions purposely do not mention a return address abroad.

The misleading information are clearly done on purpose to hide the return shipping address and the fact that the company is selling from abroad. They give a lot on information on their Terms & Condition however they leave out a crucial piece of information for their benefit.

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations (2000) require the seller to divulge their registered business address. The address contained on their website is a Mail Boxes Etc address and A PO Box number is not considered a valid address. Secondly, the seller should give the buyer clear information regarding their returns and cancellation policies, as well as delivery costs and arrangements. It is also compulsory for the seller to provide all of this information in writing.

We will report them to the Trading Standards and to the Advertising Standards Authority.

Their are based abroad, however they fraudulently pretend to be based in the UK to be able to benefit from the local customer base but still they don’t want to be subject to the UK regulations. I now understand why their opening times for the customer support are from 2pm to 10pm, because they are probably based in the US.

I should have been wary of their unfair selling practices when, soon after I placed my order, I received a call from their sales representative who was trying to pressure sell me some accessories for my camera.
