Problem with you guys you only like showing positive reviews and put up barriers for 1 star reviews when someone wants to share their true experience which you then think is negative for your customer the seller, whom you make money from. I understand you request receipts as evidence of purchase of
Product or service, why don’t you also ask for those that leave 4-5 stars, how do you know those are not fake reviews? You have been featured on the BBC Watchdog as well about your review system.

Trustpilot is an open review community, meaning that anyone is able to leave a review regarding an experience they have had without being invited by the business. This is something that makes Trustpilot special - we give everyone a voice.
When reviews are posted to Trustpilot they are all scanned by our Fraud Detection Software, no matter what rating the review has. It runs independently, 24/7 across our platform, examining a large range of different behavioural parameters - such as, for example, IP addresses. The system then uses an algorithm to calculate the likelihood that reviews are fake. This is represented by a ‘fake score’.
If a review is flagged as fake, it is taken offline immediately and the reviewer is contacted and can provide documentation to verify their review. Reviews can not be flagged simply because they are negative, as they are checked for many parameters.
I can also confirm that businesses can not force us to delete reviews, and every review is investigated against our guidelines. No matter if a company has a paid subscription, or using Trustpilot for free, the process is the same. We do not show favour to businesses or reviewers, simply apply our guidelines fairly in every case.
