My 22 year old daughter ordered an Uber at 10 pm last night to go from a friends house to home. After 20 minutes she realised they were going the wrong way and had got onto the M25. When she asked the driver where they were going, he replied Hounslow (home is Northwood). The driver refused to turn around or to drop my daughter to a petrol station, instead he pulled over on the hard shoulder of the M25 and asked her to get out. My distraught daughter then hid in a bush and called me. Luckily we have an app where I could see her location. The police are now involved and have said this is happening more and more. After that harrowing experience, Uber have said they will look into it but sadly the help line is is Indonesia where they didn’t even know what a hard shoulder is. Uber is meant to be a safe experience; my advice is never get in Uber as a lone female. Disgusting!!!!
