Trainline's true colours

Trainline took my money efficiently enough. Then, when the plan went south, made it completely between me and the train operators. The train operators pushed back. I'm in the middle without a hope.
Trainline now say I can request a refund, but when I go to their site to find the reservation reference, I just get "Oops, something went wrong." How useful is that?
They say, too, you can call a helpline. If this exists at all it is well hidden.
If this is not dishonest trading, what is?

If the ticket booked is a refundable ticket , you can claim a refund of upto less £10.00. We are sorry but these are the rules set by the rail industry and we need to abide to the rules and regulations.
