I got a quote for house insurance of comparison website amongst the cheap was AA so I thought (should of read these reviews) they were a good brand name.
Well how wrong was I on pressing the link to direct me to thier website from the comparison website it went up £25. I entered No additional information to make this happen so I phoned up and the lady on the phone took all the same detail again it went up 50% and she could not give what I would call a reasonable explanation.
So I e mailed the CEO who passed it to one of his managers to investigate he didn't explain why it went up £25 on moving to the AA site and said it was because the market value on website was £264,000 and when I spoke to them I said £475,000. He was completely wrong the comparison site of £265,000 was the rebuild cost Not market value. He said it was also because on the aa they asked if my alarm was yearly maintained and I said no. This question wasn't ask on comparison site. So the quote went up 50%.
I believe that the insurance company has an obligation to ensure it is compatible with the comparison site or do not allow them to quote on there behalf. The whole thing was shocking and his response was full of errors.
