I recently rented a car in Piza for two weeks. I agreed to start my rental with a full tank of petrol and return with a full tank of petrol. There was a surcharge put on my Credit Card to the tune of 104.00Euros.

I returned the car two weeks later complete with a full tank of fuel (I filled up only 2km away from the dropoff) and even took a photo of the fuel gauge to confirm that the tank was full. I was assured by the attendant who collected my car I would receive a full refund of the fuel surcharge.

A week later my card was refunded with 64Euros and I was informed I had penalty for full fuel breach. I have now written two emails to Gold Car and not received a single reply.

I hope this email puts other renters off using Gold Car. After reading the number of messages that show the same or similar practice it seems like I dealt with a rather sharp and unreasonable organisation. An easy way to make 40 extra Euros, not enough for me to kick up a big fuss but enough to make them some more profit!!!!!
