Do not buy from this company
A company that makes products just to rob the hard working people of their money. Charge inflated prices with app dependent toys then make them obsolete, very clever company. Avoid if you value your hard working cash.

I understand the company changing focus but to basically disable your legacy products is unacceptable. I have the BB8 and was trying to connect with legacy app still on my iPhone and it would not remain connected but at least it connected. However Sphero prompted me to use their latest edu app and it forced a firmware update to the BB8 which now makes it impossible to find or sync to the legacy app and it also fails to connect to the updated app so Sphero basically did what Star Wars didn't do....they killed my BB8.
I bought a Sphero Star Wars BB8 when it came out, but my son was too young to play with it. A few days ago we recovered it and the app no longer exists for iPad, and there is no way to connect it to the Sphero Edu app, what a disappointment... obsolete due to commercial agreements or royalties? never again Sphero, good luck
Purchased Sphero product Lightning McQueen robot and Sphero stopped supporting this product. Basically it's a paperweight. It would have been easy enough to have Sphero disable the server check on the app if they were going to stop supporting it. Even if you download the app and connect to the car, it will look for an update and then tell you to go into settings to connect to the Internet. This isn't possible as the server is down. Very expensive toy and no customer service. A lot of complaints on reddit about this company, the expensive toys, and no support. Do not buy anything from this company as they will support it for a limited time and then make it obsolete.
Purchased an R2-D2 robot toy for over £100 a couple of years ago. Wanted my son to play with it this week as he's old enough now. The app to control the R2-D2 has been taken off the app store and now I'm left with a £100 paper weight. DO NOT BUY STUFF FROM SPHERO.
Purchase at your own risk, sphero used three times and after a failed software update decided to stop working.
As the product was out of its year warranty I was advised that the product had lived its life and they would provide a 30% discount on my next purchase.
For a product that cost £120 I expected much better. Disappointed is an understatement!
Prompt receipt of package. Two years later my daughter shorted her charger. Emailed to request to purchase a new base. They searched down my receipt because I didn't have it, but knew the general time frame of purchase, and sent a new base, free of charge. Great company!
Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Rude, unresponsive and inaccurate - a trifecta of poor customer care.
