Had no issues with the delivery or service but that's where the positives end! Bought a smartphone and a tablet of them but rather than being from the UK they were from China/Hong Kong and the keyboard kept reverting back to mandarin. Claim to be from the UK but they're not! Avoid!!!

I would not touch them with a barge pole, a total con, they take your money and run.
Go somewhere else for your goods, it will save you a lot of grief.
COMMUNICATION....A FORGOTTEN ART
Ordered a dishwasher on Sunday, got a phone call on Monday saying delivery Tuesday.GREAT but could not take delivery so advised Wednesday am or all day Friday would be good. Away they went, 'we'll be in touch'.....then nothing. Stayed home Wednesday am and Friday.......no delivery. Called them up up. They told me I will get an email when delivery is scheduled. Now if they would have told me on Monday that simple fact, I would NOT have expected delivery Friday and could have gone out into the Autumn sunshine!! When I called them on Friday to ask 'where is my machine' 'Customer Services' seemed to imply it was my fault for not understanding what 'we'll be in touch' meant. I forgot to mention also that in the intervening days I had sent two emails requesting a delivery date with no reply. 'We have hundreds of customers' they informed me. Not for long if you keep this up methinks.
Great prices, but horrendous customer service!
My parents bought my camera for me through this site as there was deal going on where you could get the Canon DSLR 700D complete with 18-35mm lens, screen protector, 16GB Fast Transfer SanDisk SD Card, and lens cleaning kit all for an exceptionally good price.
Received the product with 7 working days of ordering the product. It came very well packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and air pockets to ensure the camera wouldn't get damaged in transit.
However, the screen protector was the wrong size and the lens cleaning fluid had leaked. Emailed them that evening, and got an automated reply; the only reply that was received out of all the emails that were sent to them. They did not respond to ANY emails that had been sent about the screen protector being the wrong size and the lens cleaning fluid having leaked, but as this was only a minor issue we decided to ignore it and not bother with their useless customer service any longer.

If I could rate zero stars I would!
This company is a joke, but NOT funny. I ordered a mobile phone from them on 9th December 2015 to get it delivered in plenty time for some ones christmas gift. . . Long story short they sold me a product that was out of stock but lead me to believe it was in stock, after cancelling my order and telling me I will be getting a refund I'm still waiting. I've contacted them half a dozen times during the initial purchase of the item and I get the same rubbish off them, ' We have escalacted your refund to priority'
Shoddy Business Practices
I ordered a Canon 500D from them a few years ago. The order was paid via Google Wallet which made me suspicious straight away, why would a company as big as them use a third party payment system only??
Once the order was paid, the penny began to drop with this outfit. The stock level on their website said they had 10 500Ds in stock. A week later, no camera, two weeks passed and still no sign of my camera, despite it being paid for in full.
I decided to pursue a refund as they had not fulfilled my order within a reasonable timescale. The person I spoke to told me that a refund request would take 10 working days. I was more suspicious as other companies refund you within 24 hours.
After some searching online for other customer experiences, it became clear why their service was so bad. They have/had a UK office on the Isle of Wight. All their goods come from Hong Kong and almost all their stock is warranty returns and grey imports. If you buy a grey import, your warranty is worthless in the UK and you will find that any authorised repair centre will not do any repairs for you, even if they are able to do the repair they won't.
After several weeks and a game of email tennis, I finally received my refund. Bit the bullet and paid extra for the same item at Jessops. I visited my local Jessops, requested the 500D and walked out with the camera in my hand.
If you buy a grey import you will save a considerable sum of money. But you do run the risk of being on your own if problems arise, and trading standards won't want to know about it. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra, buy from a reputable retailer and know that if any warranty issues occur, I can get the help I need to get the problem resolved.
I believe they are no longer trading, which doesn't surprise me. But I'm sure there are other similar businesses with the same model operating online.

Lost my money
Ordered phone did not recived nothing after 5 months 400 recived after envolving recovery sites and paid them to recover ...thanks God they are no more
Money taken from account but no product received.
Could anyone advise please? I bought a camera from SE December 2015.
I believed it was a UK company. When I found out the camera would not arrive on time for Christmas I requested cancellation. I didn't get the camera but they took the money.
I only realised the money had been taken when I was doing my tax return this month. Yes am rubbish with money issues.
Its too late for my bank to get the money back. Is there anything else I can do to get it back please? Thanks for all advise. It was £180.00
I don't trust them for UK order.
I placed an order in the past, however, it was the wrong model, I had to cancel the order within minutes after check out.
Unfortunately, I thought Simply Electronics was a UK company, it was not. Google lead me to believe it was based in UK. The price was definitely cheaper than any UK competitors.
The UK number to was a call center overseas, I had to submit a ticket to cancel the order. At the end, it took a long to receive the refund money.
I won't bother buying anything from them, since it is shipped from overseas to UK, it is likely to be hit by VAT and Import Duty. Not really worth it.
also scammed
I ordered two samsung galaxy J7's , but my bank initially declined the
transaction and sent me a text asking me to confirm it was me. I should have smelled a rat then, but it took me a few hours before i thought to review the company, and came across this. I emailed them andphoned them, and just said ive changed my mind.
then as per most people on here went through the process of hearing there crap excuses for 4 to five weeks, before following the advise of another victim, i contacted hong kong trading standards.
I also told simply i was going to the hong kong police.
within days they declared bankrupsy. and im still not sure if my bank has successfully recovered the funds, im still waiting to find out.
However what prompted me to post on here , is that there is a very similar company operating out of hong kong, also with a clearly scam director setup in the UK, hes got the same secretary and director, with the christian name and surname reversed. and they advertise themselves as an Australian company, with a name that starts "1"
they are also located within a few miles of simply electronics in hong kong and there online reviews look just like this one.
im not saying more as i could be wrong, but beware
Never got the phone I ordered
Put an order with Simply Electronics in August for a new phone and a few days later I noticed their website was down and the company had finished trading.
Tried getting my money back through Skrill who accepted no responsibility.
In the end I made a claim to my bank - the coop through Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and I have now received my money back in full.
Learnt my lesson now to not order through cheaper websites and I will now purchase things with my credit card so I have more protection!
Visa Debit Chargeback
I paid Visa Debit and asked Barclays for a Visa Chargeback. I got my £1110 back. In my reply to the bank, I put the blame squarely on Simply Electronics and attached the notification from the liquidators that the company were $40M in debt (i.e. bankrupt). I simply wrote that Skrill were the money transfer company. I recommend everyone approach it this way. No further questions asked, full refund from Barclays.
Worst Online Purchase Ever.
Tried to purchase a Samsung s7 on the 24th June. Item did not arrive regardless of numerous emails. I got an email stating that they and a company called venture direct had gone into liquidation. Venture direct are still operating on google regardless of this. Disgusting company and complete scam. Do not be drawn in with the cheap prices that are nothing but a scam company. Finally managed to get my money back with a visa charge back.
Worse than the Worst!!!
Same story as others posting here. Ordered on 9th July thinking it was an UK based company.. No updates for 6 days, then to the shock of my life read the reviews (should have done before buying!). Cancelled the order and waited for the refund period of 6 days to expire and then contacted the bank. Bank said they need a refund voucher from the supplier for them to raise a charge back under 'Refund Not Received' even though I told them there was no chance of receiving it from these frauds.. Then came the liquidation notice and the bank said they can raise a charge back for liquidation. Finally got my £917 back today..Thank God.
If anyone has bought using the visa debit card, do contact your bank asap and give them the liquidation notice. They should be able to raise a charge back for company under liquidation.
Could have been a very expensive mistake.. Will make sure this does not happen in life again..Lesson well learnt! Buyer be always aware...
Clydesdale Mastercard pass the buck to Skrill
Never had a problem with Simply until now. Ordered a phone just a week before they seemingly stopped trading. Now Clydesdale MasterCard say there is nothing they can do as they cannot create a chargeback to Skrill as technically Skrill have not done anything wrong.... when I contact Skrill they say that it is nothing to do with them and I need to contact the card issuer. So I am in an infinite loop.... would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
Rubish Company
This Company was worse than useless, ordered an item in may for £295 waited the 10 days they said it would take to deliver and nothing, asked where it was and the fun began, its been delayed due to heavy back orders it will be dispatched with priority another week and a half past and nothing, cancelled the order and 2 and a half months later still had no refund luckily i spoke to my bank a month ago and they started the ball rolling to get my money back on visa charge back as id used my debit card got my money back last week thank god, also last week looks like Simply Electronics website is now closed thank god as companys like this should not be allowed to trade the thieving buggers.
Lying bunch of cnuts
If you ordered from these thieves, I hope you paid via credit card.
Start chasing your credit card company now!
Bankrupt!
Ordered Aug 2015 - received OK .
However the phone developed a fault in July 2016. Took it to Samsung who said it was actually from the United Arab Emirates and they will only provide support if I'm in the UAE! Also that the manufacturers guarantee was only for one year not the 2 years in the UK.
Simply Electronics did offer their own 12 month warranty but now they've ceased trading they've stopped replying to my emails.
Getting the phone repaired locally, as I'm not planning on going to the middle east any time soon. £140 for the repair but I'm hoping I can reclaim that under section 75 from the credit card company.
I had not idea the phone wasn't a UK version. It even has the UK address of Samsung on the back! Samsung said the phone was genuine and they do produce phones with UK details despite not being a UK phone?! - Don't ask me why they would do that.
So if your buying a phone from a questionable source check with the manufacturer that it is a UK version or at least UK support for it.
Will only be buying from well known companies in the future!
