Great Design, but Very Weak Coffee Output

I recently purchased the Severin FILKA, attracted by its sleek design and compact form. Unfortunately, the actual coffee experience was disappointing.

Despite using high-quality Arabica beans, setting the grind size to the finest level, and selecting the maximum strength setting, the coffee remained extremely weak. The issue seems to be that the grinder dispenses too little coffee per brew — noticeably less compared to other machines like my previous Philips model. The resulting brew lacked both aroma and body, regardless of the settings.

That said, I want to compliment Severin’s customer service, which was very responsive and helpful. After sharing my concerns, they quickly suggested possible solutions. When these didn’t work, they guided me through a smooth and professional return process.

If you’re looking for strong, full-bodied coffee, this machine might not be the right choice. But if you’re after minimal effort and a light brew, and value good customer support, it could still work for you.

Severin does not honor its warranty

I bought a toaster from Severin via amazon belgium website. It is no longer working and still under warranty. Severin does not answer messages via their contact center. I eventually called the company in Germany and was told they do not cover warranty issues in Belgium. Unbelievable. She suggested I request a refund which I have via the website - let's see if they respond. How can they not cover a warranty in an EU country??

Severin Milkfrother/Milschaufschäumer products lack quality

I would like to write about the
Milk frother or Milschaufschäumer in German. The product line probably is not meant for makibg long lasting. Though, i was satisfied by the product but the quality is not good and I would rather prefer something superior which is available at a minor cost difference of not more than 10 Sfr./Eur. I had bought 2 of the products from Severin and they both last only approx 4.5 years.
SEVERIN SM 9688 [2204065] purchased in 2014
Severin Milchaufschäumer SM 9688 purchased in 2019.
The reason for the second purchase was the earlier product stopped working.

Both the equipment had same issue: the equipment has electricity but does not work any more after approx right after 4.5 years. First time this was left out to be complained to the manufacturer as this could happen in a lot. The second one had the same pattern. When the issue of quality was raised with the firm to check their production line, i received the information for no support beyond 2 years guarantee and will require inspection from place of purchase.

Similar products last much longer and it is a pity that this becomes nothing more than a e- junk after 4.5 years.

Flimsy manufacture.

Just over a year and the hinge on the Severin kettle (WK 3418) lid just broke so the lid won’t open when the button is pressed. Looking at it under a magnifying glass, it looks flimsy. The promo verbiage for this kettle proclaimed loudly that it was manufactured in Germany but I found alternative text that said “Engineered in Germany and built in China.”

I bought it via Amazon and I live in France. So far, I have been unable to avail myself of the much vaunted EU law of a 2 year guarantee. A complaint to the EU regulator is in progress.

Not a reliable brand

Bought a Severin microwave 7754 in 2020 - seemed very good quality and worked well. Doesn’t have lots of use - just a daily heating of milk or soup sometimes - but nevertheless it just stopped working and after reading other reviews for this model, it seems to be the case. It was also just outside of warranty by just under a year which another reviewer mentions to be the case. Not impressed and would not recommend to anyone. We previously had a Sanyo that lasted 20 years so it says a lot about this company…..

Severin kettle stops working

Our Severin kettle suddenly stopped working for no reason shortly after it went out of warranty (2 years). The company refuses to replace it and it cannot be repaired. Ironic that the company says its products are 'durable and sustainable'. Very disappointed in the product and customer service. Do not buy a kettle from Severin.

2years ago I bought a Severin Kettle but suddenly out of guarantee it has stopped working. I contacted the company for advice for help but no reply. Before it stopped working it was ok although lid would often randomly flip open . I cant recommend the company or its product.
