They are simply put - thieves, now under administration. Give me my money back you scam!
THEY ARE A SCAM
I bought a product. They took my money straight away.
They never sent it. 30 days later, I asked for refund.
It arrived on my door. So I sent it back, because they didn't deserve my money.
They then declared bankruptcy, as a scam to steal my money.
DO NOT BUY
Summary:
1) misleading delivery time
2) inability to say when my product might arrive (no ETA)
3) promised at 12:37 in a support ticket that the item was shortly about to be shipped to me - but then told at 14:11 in the same support ticket that the item was no longer available for dispatch and can not be received from the manufacturer.
4) no refund from the seller, had to go through my bank and provide evidence to get my money back
5) company is no longer trading
Tried to buy a product, there was no mention of a 3-4 week estimated delivery time that only appeared on the product after I had to ask when my item was going to arrive. I was told that my funds are used to source the item from the manufacturer and that they cant provide me with an ETA. I requested that they contact the manufacturer and let me know what ETA they get. This was deflected.
After waiting the full 4 weeks, despite repeated requests i was unable to get any indication of when my purchase would arrive but they apologised for the delay and promised they were doing everything they could to minimise the delay, every single support reply ended assuring me that i could ask for a refund at any time.
Eventually I got an auto-reply that i'd already received in another support ticket i raised with them, (the one about how they use my that was the final straw that caused me to ask for a refund. I was then told that the item was due to arrive shortly and that they (NoH) would contact me as soon as it arrives and that the priority has been set to high .. etc etc.
I insisted that i wanted a refund, at which point i was told that Nigel O Hara regrets to inform me that the item is no longer available for despatch and cannot be received from the manufacturer due to it being a discontinued item. no more than 3 hours after i was told it should be with me shortly!!!
The website states that all refunds will be issued within 14 days (not working days) however i left it 14 working days and received nothing. upon logging back into my support ticket, there was a message saying they could no longer offer me any further customer support and that I should contact my bank for a refund,
I had to provide evidence to visa, thankfully I had been taking screenshots of all my support tickets to NoH as you cant access them once they shut you out. Similarly all the emails to me from NoH mysteriously vanished from my personal email inbox (they attempted to recall all the email correspondence) but my phone has a local cache of these emails so I was able to recover them too.
I now have my money back and have purchased elsewhere. Visa are investigating. For anyone still without their money back due to the inability to provide evidence of support tickets etc i would highly recommend taking action with trading standards. Further advice on how to do this can be received through your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
Ridiculous
Never received item will challenge on this to get my money back ordered it in Feb absolutely appalling service. No wonder they are out of business, shamefull company. 0 stars
Excellent service
I found the perfume that I wanted which was out of stock in the high street stores which was brilliant! I've even got my mum to buy me another bottle from here for Christmas :)
Great Price
Bought the Ruark R7, usually £2000, paid £1300 with Nigel O.
Scam
I cancelled when they couldn't give me a delivery date 2 weeks after having made the order. They went ahead and charged my credit card any way. Now they have ceased trading, fantastic.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
I have exactly the same story as the user David Hughes.
Upon recommendation by a friend who found me a great deal on a Wacom Cintiq Graphics Tablet which was £400 off RRP. I thought this was a great deal!
Order placed 3rd Sept, deadline for the order arrival comes, check order tracking, payment received but nothing further done.
Contacted company, weeks and weeks of going back and forth of asking for a refund from October all the way to this month of November, same response OVER AND OVER again, that they can't do anything. Finally I told my credit card company to raise a dispute and then suddenly the website is down because they have ceased trading? What a scam.
This company and website is a just a big scam!
I even tweeted, wrote on their facebook page with negative reviews, hoping for some kind of response but still nothing happened.
Extremely disappointed
Having previously bought a Seiko watch from Nigel O`Hara it was with some optimism that I decided to purchase another watch from them. How wrong could I have been? I decided to order another Kinetic watch but this time it was for every day use, and once again this company were very competitive with their pricing. From the outset the description was that it was available, so on the strength of that I ordered it on Sept 5th and was informed that I would receive it on approximately Sept 25th. Fine, so long as I knew that, it was not a problem. However, as that deadline slipped I enquired as to what was happening only to be told that as it had been ordered in especially for me, they were still waiting for it to be delivered to them from the supplier. Days turned in to weeks, and ticket after ticket (their way of responding to e-mails) I received repeated replies of how sorry they were and that it was still with the supplier. Always the same response but sent by a different member of their team each time. After 6-7 e-mails/tickets I had had enough and gave them a deadline by which to send my watch, if they failed to do this I wanted my money back. So, after nearly 2 months of being palmed off with the same old excuse I contacted my credit card company to get a refund because, guess what? my refund didn`t materialize either. Without hesitation they immediately started the process, maybe they had previous dealings with this company who knows? but I got my money back. I did not receive any form of apology from Nigel O`Hara themselves for me cancelling the order, nor did I receive the refund directly from them, my credit card company took on that responsibility and refunded me within a few days. In a strange twist of fate, I got another Seiko watch on Amazon, which arrived before they said it would, and I`m very pleased with it too, saving some £250 off the M.R.R.P. There is a god after all.........I WILL NOT BE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN, YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM COMPLETELY.
Filofax
Disappointed that it came with 2015 diary when I asked for 2016. I did complain 2 weeks ago and was told they would send me the 2016 diary however I am unable to make any further contact as the web site no longer exists. Very disappointed.
Stolen my money!!!!
After nearly 2 months and sending many support tickets, with the customer support saying that my product is on back order. I went online to send another ticket and found their website has disappeared and there is no way of contacting them. (basically doing a runner). They have run off with £795 of my hard earned money.
I have initiated a Visa dispute with my bank and hope I can get my money back. They are a disgrace and I feel have been leading me on all this time, they probably didn't even order what I asked for.
Avoid like the plague.
Having spent three months seemingly talking to myself, Nigel O'Hara.com finally relented and returned the money owed to me. I ordered a laptop from them in July of this year, mainly because of the reduced cost of the product. All went well until the given arrival date of the item had passed, and after a few more days (in case it had been delayed in the post, these things can happen sometimes) I emailed their "Customer Services" team. After a wait of two or three days I was sent a message back, apologising for the delay and assuring me that someone would look into the matter, and that someone would contact me the following Wednesday with all necessary details about the order. Wednesday came and went, and by Friday I had still not heard anything from them. Another message was sent. Again, another wait for a response until eventually I received one.
What I received was the exact same message seemingly just copy and pasted from a script, the only change being the name on the end. I had had enough of this by this stage, having been more than a month since I placed my order and still having to jump through hoops just to get the same message fired back at me. I sent yet another message pointing this out, and requested a refund.
After another few days passing and hearing nothing (I was expecting this at this stage, it seems to be just how they operate), I had to send another message to them asking if my refund request had been acknowledged. This despite stating to me (twice) that they believe that "you should not have to chase us up". The refund request complete message was sent the following week, promising that the money would be returned within fourteen days.
Skip ahead another month and the story remained the same, no money having been returned. It was at this point that I decided enough was enough and informed them that if the funds had not been received by a certain date, the matter would be run through Small Claims Court. At this point, and a fair bit more quickly than previously, I did receive a message informing me that their Finance Department had been notified and that the money would be refunded shortly.
At this point I was preparing myself to submit an application to the Courts, however on the very last day of the grace period I had allowed them, the money finally reappeared in my account.
Now it's all well and good saying that this is the end of the matter, yet not once in my time of purchasing products online from ANY retailer had I been disrespected and ignored in such a manner. To call the team responsible for dealing with these matters a "Customer Care" team is nothing short of insulting. There are no contact phone numbers displayed easily on their website (I eventually had to go through other means to acquire this), and even when you do ring that number the automated message (yes, an automated message for ringing the actual shop in Portadown) states that the number does not deal with online orders and provides one which does, though you'll need to be quick to write it down as it is mentioned once rapidly, then the message ends. The next tactic, naturally, was to call the number that had been provided.
Yet more automated voices greeted me, only this time I was told to enter the number of the department or person that I wished to speak to, and that was it. No options for speaking to a member of their customer services team, nor anyone else. Precisely how are we to attain this information?
It is my conclusion that they make it extremely difficult to contact them because they know what is going on. No reputable business would make a customer run through this gauntlet of misery.
I have never said this about any other retailer, however I cannot stress enough that people AVOID this vendor. Despite their promise of lower prices, this is just a con into getting your money, keeping it for as long as possible (I assume to raise interest on it) and then not bother with updates until threats of legal involvement are introduced.
UPDATE: I have just read that they are closing for business. I wonder why?
Thief!
Do not buy from this company! They do not provide the goods you have ordered and then do not give back your money. They are a disgrace!
BIGGEST TIME WASTERS EVER!!!
I bought a watch from the store in portadown, a week later I decided that I would get an engrave on the back so I thought I would return to the same shop to do so, I drop it in paid the money and left information of what I was looking, i was told to return a week later with me (at the time) only working next door I returned and ask for the watch the worker replied to say it's being polished and will be a few minutes, I was on my lunch break so I didn't have much time, with 15 minutes of waiting I asked if it was nearly ready she then said come back tomorrow for it which was strange but I didn't have the time to hang about, I returned for my second time to be held waiting again but this time without a return on the worker, 20 MINITES later the owner, came out and began the short talk about work which at this point i was getting annoyed and wasn't for having it, he walked me down the bottom of the store to then drop the bomb that the watch had a technical problem (working perfectly when I got it home the first time) and that he was letting me pick a watch of my choice, oh but of course the watches were all the left over sale I told him how it was a Christmas present and I needed to bring him in(they were ugly basically) I returned to the shop for the third time and by this stage, I wasnt for hanging about, I asked for my money back, the man refunded the money for the watch and I then reminded him the the charge of the engraven that was done which he then checked to make sure I wasn't lying!!! In past years he lost my grandmothers locket that my mum left in to get cleaned, months later she got a call that they found it after accusing her of never leaving it in!! I'm over the moon that the place is closing because frankly they dont deserve anyone's money nor anyone's time!
This must be a scam!!
I ordered a silver charm for around £25 for a present for Christmas. I had a text confirmation with my order number on saying I would be contacted upon the orders dispatch but received no email confirmation. It had been over three weeks and I have received no text to inform me of my products dispatch and have received nothing. I contacted them via their website on via their email service over 2 weeks ago questioning where my order was and I still have had no reply. I went to back to there website today to email them again and the website seems to be mysteriously not working!! I've been completely scammed and if I don't receive anything in the next week I will be raising a chargeback on the goods. It is unacceptable to not contact a customer bacj after 2 weeks and the goods not turn up. Worst experience ever and I'm a Christmas present short!!!!
DO NOT BUY OFF THIS COMPANY
Nigel Ohara advertised and sold me a Samsung sound bar that they couldn't get hold of. After a month of me chasing and them saying it will be with me at end of week. I had to insist on a refund 3 months on. I AM STILL WAITING FOR REFUND OF £300
Strange that some 'positive' reviews still posting
The positive reviews on here never struck me as authentic and they're still being posted after the company has gone bust - what's going on trust pilot?
Item never received
Ordered an item almost a month ago and have had no communication since. Now the website is down, Facebook page has been deleted and all emails I send are being rejected! Haven't received my item and never received a refund!!
Loving Nigel O'Hara
I'm a new customer and I'm loving Nigel O'Hara. I bought the bag I wanted for my daughter at a great price and it was delivered so quickly.
Thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience and I'll be back soon!
