Great Company, Great Team

We had our kitchen supplied by Wren Kitchens (who we also have nothing but praise for) but due to the cost savings available by going direct to Gemini Worktops for our Quartz worktops it was a no brainer to use Gemini. We saved around £1200 on the price Wren were quoting for exactly the same worktops.
Now the communication and support from Gemini has been superb bit the real hats off goes to the templating and Installation team. They were a sub-contractor to Gemini who were simply amazing. J Rotherham Ltd were the installation team and those lads simply could not do enough for us. Nothing was to much trouble and they worked their socks off in the rain and transformed our kitchen into the dream kitchen we have always wanted.

Honestly, perfect from start to finish. Everyone involved has been superb.

Jokers. I'm glad this company has gone to the wall. Awful people and dreadful service. 9 Visits to sort out problems. Didn't turn up, late for appointments and overall work standard was dreadful. All the employees should be ashamed of themselves. Not one competent employee. Utterly shameful company Steer Clear.

Aspen Ice quartz Worktops. Brilliant

We had aspen Ice quartz worktops fitted by J Rotherham in December 2018, the product is fantastic, fit is perfect and top quality, and looks as good now as when it was fitted.

My only issue is that whilst J Rotherham product is great, the ordering process via WREN is misleading to say the least. Check lead times and appointment availability at time of ordering, due to the misleading nature of WREN sales advisors, I took delivery of my kitchen on 23 October, fitted it within 2 days, but did not manage to get worktops fitted until mid December.

J Rotherham product is amazing but WREN customer service is not !

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I ordered an amadeus granite worktop via Wren. I complained to Wren as it was really scratched and heavily pitted. In addition, the black glue/material at the join has crumbled out. They sent two workman out in December 2019, for a 'remedial appointment'. I booked the day off work, thinking they were going to... well remedy the issue.

Instead, I kid you not, they told me they just came for a look and ATTEMPTED TO COLOUR IN THE SCRATCHES WITH A BLACK SHARPIE PEN. And no, not a marker... an actual sharpie branded pen. At my insistence, they rang their manager to say I was not happy with the sharpie action. The manager said I would be offered replacement pieces, or a discounted price (the call was on loud speaker), and he would contact me later that day to confirm things. I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. Anddddd... they've told Wren when they came out the granite was fine, so Wren aren't doing anything about it either.

I'm furious and will continue to challenge until I get a resolution.

Avoid at all costs.

bunch of liars

We have ordered corian worktops through Wren. Booking for someone to come and measure you get a mouthy arrogant lady on the phone , then on the day of fitting no one turned up after a confirmation email the previous day. They bluntly lied worktops were bent and we waited another 3 weeks. After an email they’ll be coming by noon we had to call and what a surprise .. they said the company went bust and no one will be coming . Lol how do you want me to rate those people? Needless to say I am furious.

Absolutely delighted with our beautiful worktops

We ordered quartz worktops via Wren Kitchens and we're absolutely delighted with them. The templating resulted in a perfect fit and the team who installed them made a really beautiful job of it. We're so very sorry to hear that Rotherham's have gone into administration.

Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. We purchased kitchen from Wren and J. Rotherham install our quartz worktop. They were the most professional of all the tradesmen we had working on our renovations. The measurements, installation and instructions about after care were great. They also were very tidy with the silicone finish. Cleaning products supplied were also great.

Read the news

There way or no way.

Work tops fitted had chips and pans fitted to wrong side.

Poor customer service, failed to listen to me as a customer, failed to delivery on date given, failed to keep to appointments and overall an appalling experience.

Still waiting for worktops

Still waiting for worktops: nearly 3 months since the kitchen was delivered
I left a poor review with 2 stars 10 days ago (see below) hoping that the project might eventually be completed. But as yet again after receiving a written confirmation on a new installation date for our worktops nobody contacted us with a time slot. When i called customer services they did not have any record of it.

So we are nowhere close to having our kitchen finished and we do not even have a date for it yet...

We are extremely disappointed and lost for words...

And here is my previous review that I left 14/01/20 for Wren which was never looked at by customer services:

Never ending project
Pros:
Fantastic experience at the show room, excellent design. The designer Jay was always available to answer all our questions by phone or email
Delivery was on time, cannot fault it
Quality of units: our fitter commented how impressed he was

Cons:
Once we reached the stage for work tops it all turned nightmare.
The original installation date was 18th December, moved to 10th of January, then, thanks to Lisa from customer service team, moved to 20th December. We waited the whole day but it had never arrived. Every time I called I was reassured that it would be installed that day 100 percent. Then late that afternoon just before your team finished for the day I received a text message informing us that the work tops would be delivered 23rd of December.
The work tops were finally delivered that day but not in the morning as originally advised (my husband had to take half a day off). When we called to confirm time of installation we were told it was moved to afternoon. And once he left for work, we received a call from installers to tell us they were just around the corner. Luckily our neighbour could let them in.
The shade of delivered worktops did not match! We had to have 3 lengths of work tops and one of them was different shade. Where is the common sense to check the stone batch before you cut it and the colour match before dispatch? The installation was only done as temporary that day before the right colour stone would be delivered.
So I had to call again after New Year as there was no communication to find out the replacement date. I then received an automated email saying that it will be done 17th of January. I spoke to Amy from customer service and raised my concerns about colour match and general lack of communication. She spoke to her manager and called me back, thank you.
Since then the installation date has been moved again...
So far we had to take 7 days holidays to accommodate our "luxury kitchen": surveyor home measure, delivery day, templates taking, delivery of temporary worktops delivery 18th December, waiting for quartz work tops 20th December and then 23rd December, then collection of upstand to colour match. We now had to take another day holiday which now has to be changed again.
So far it has been a long and expensive project which unfortunately is not over yet.
Since November we received countless automated emails with different reference numbers. I had to make so many phone calls just to understand what some of those emails refer to. And very often your advisors could not find records of those references either. Improve the communication between your numerous teams/contractors and respect your customers time. Not once we were offered a weekend delivery.

Further review in response to j Rotherham

There is no reply option so I am addressing J Rotherham response to my previous review here. Your J Rotherham employee himself poured tea onto the quartz surface and used warm soapy water to remove it straight away as advised by yourselves and it didn't shift it! He had to use bar keepers friend.. he himself said you shouldn't have to use bar keepers friend every time you spill a little tea! It should be used if you have spilt something on your worktops and neglected to clean it for hours not seconds! He also confirmed that this fault had never been seen before and wasn't happening to the quartz in the workshop! It's disgusting that your own website describes this product as superior, non purous, stain resistant, only need to use soapy water to clean etc, is actually an out right lie because you actually need to use a chemical with acid in its contents to remove the stains! A chemical that clearly says 'do not breathe in' but I'm supposed to wipe my worktops with this every time I make a cup of tea!!! Customer care is non existent, you have your £3,600 and that's all you care about!

Good experience throughout

Good experience throughout. Getting through on the phone was not easy but when we did they were very helpful, particularly when we had to reschedule a couple of times. Fitters were great - no complaints about coming up lots of steps and did a good a quick job. More spacers than expected under the countertop but overall effect very good.

Cigarette butts on drive, scratched sink, dented floor and no one ever answers the phone (33 mins on hold as I write this!)

I have recently had J Rotherham install my counter on behalf of Wren - what a nightmare! Not only did they cancel multiple installation dates (one where they couldn't find the worktop) when they came they scratched my sink, dropped something and dented the new kitchen floor, miss measured a piece to leave me with a wonky worktop and worse smoked and left their cigarette butts on my driveway - the counters are lovely, everything else shocking....

adding this on in response to confirm the fitters were in your branded van, and were also the same people who measured it up.... better to accept responsibility and improve rather than deflect IMHO.

I'm concerned to read the issues raised in this review, but would like to point out that the installation team who attended your property were not arranged by our organisation, but the company you purchased your kitchen from.

I confirm J Rotherham manufactured and dispatched your worktops to your kitchen provider on time and in full, so the issue regarding the delays in installation will also need to be addressed directly with them
