Unsatisfactory

I tried ordering an iPhone from Telmore and applied for financing through express bank. I went through the application process and was rejected. This does not make sense to me as I have 17.000 DKK left over after expenses each month. Moreover, the loan for my current phone was just fulfilled and that was also facilitated by Express Bank. Never once did I miss a payment or had any other issues in the two year period the loan was active.

Highly unsatisfactory.

Desværre kan vi ikke uddybe begrundelsen for et afslag nærmere, da vores kreditvurdering er baseret på mange forskellige kvalificeringskrav, som vi ikke har mulighed for at uddybe hverken helt eller delvist.

Det er endvidere et krav, at vi og andre banker skal vurdere en kundes kreditværdighed ved ansøgning om lån – også når det gælder finansiering af en vare. Vi laver en kreditværdighedsvurdering ved bl.a. at beregne et budget, hvor vi ser på indtægter, udgifter, rådighedsbeløb mv. Oplysningerne indsamles og behandles sikkert og fortroligt af vores samarbejdspartner, Monthio, som er under tilsyn af Finanstilsynet og har tilladelse som kontooplysningstjeneste. Unfair Rejection

Unfair Rejection

I recently faced an extremely frustrating experience when trying to get a loan for a phone. Despite having a strong financial background, my application was inexplicably rejected. My wife and I share our finances, and there seems to be no way for the system to recognize our combined income.

When I called customer service for clarification, the employee was unable to correct the issue or provide a satisfactory explanation (my wife also triedwith the same result). Our economic situation is very stable, and we even own a house, which makes this rejection even more perplexing.

This incident has left me very disappointed with the service. I hope the company can improve its system to consider shared incomes and train its employees to better assist customers in such situations.

Express bank not transparent in their credit applications

Update: thanks for the reply. I have been updated with the conversation and thanks for reaching out. Then again, to be transparent with why express bank is not giving credits should be informed in the process to all applicants. Why is even telmore directing us to the application for express bank? Anyway, thanks for the call

I applied to buy a phone in Telmore through a credit given by Express Bank. Firstly, the questionnaire was very invasive and you have to give out a lot of information about income, expenses, etc. secondly, the questionnaire is not even well done. I share expenses with my husband, and I was asked to enter my salary, but they never asked about my partner's salary, so they know my expenses but not the total income, therefore the application was rejected. By not considering this crucial information express bank can't have a full overview of total income and expenses and therefore, they can't take properly informed decisions on giving the credit or not. At this point, it just feels like a scam to have applicants' data. This process is not transparent at all!

Besides all this, my husband called to request for clarifications and the service was terrible!

Just BAD

Just BAD! They just CHARGE you even they agreed to have 45 days interest free!!!! Their app for online payment doesn’t work at all and their customer service doesn’t care and not helpful. I am going to close my account soon to avoid extra payments for nothing!!!!!

Only for danish residens..
You can only borrow money here if you are a Danish resident.
I have been living in Denmark for 8 years, employed since day one, with good finances and own property.
For the first time, I tried to buy a new mobile phone with installment payments, only because the interest rate was zero %, and I was rejected for reasons they don't state, because I believe they don't have other criteria by which they evaluate it.
Based on a few questions, for example, how many children live in the household, how many cars do we have, they concluded that I cannot afford a new phone. Regardless of the fact that none of these household expenses are covered by my salary...

Foreign (Non-Permanent) Residents, Don’t bother!!

Don’t bother if you’re not a Danish Citizen or a Permanent resident.

Net salary each month is more than the value of loan applied for, and have more than the value of the loan in cash in my account.

Express bank is unable (unwilling) to provide reason of refusal. Thank you Express Bank and BNP Paribas, I will no longer use any of your services. Only wanted the loan in an effort to build a credit score in Denmark.

Further information: I explicitly asked if the provided information was satisfactory, offered alternative account statements to show financial means, offered investment account statements, offered collateral on the loan and still got rejected. Living in Denmark for 18 months.

I was twice rejected for a loan

I was twice rejected for a loan, by Express Bank. I had requested for the minimum amount (10000 DKK), and they called me, after a few days. We had a good conversation about my expenses etc. I was asked to submit my residence permit and then came the rejection. No reason was given, of course. I have a steady income and have never had any previous loans.

They have said that I can reapply for a loan if my circumstances change, but of course, they haven't told me anything about what 'circumstances' should change!

I have had a loan before with…

I have had a loan before with Ekpressbank and it was fine
But today I've been working a full-time job for 4 years but I have created my CV R number and that is a problem because their system can't handle a private person with a cvr and of course, they refuse to do it manually

It is a requirement that we and other banks must assess a customer's creditworthiness when applying for a loan - also when it comes to financing a product. We make a creditworthiness assessment by e.g. to calculate a budget, where we look at income, expenses, available amount, etc. The information is collected and processed securely and confidentially by our partner, Monthio, which is supervised by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and licensed as an account information service. Of course, we fully understand that having to provide insight into one's personal finances can seem overwhelming and cross-border, but it is necessary in relation to being able to make an overall credit assessment and a legal requirement, which we cannot of course deviate from.

Rejection

After completing the application process for the loan, I received a rejection message indicating that my credit situation is not living up to requirements and that I should come back when my economy improves. I found this strange, as it did not reflect the true state of my economy and credit rating.
As the information was too general, I had to look for an explanation by calling customer support. It turned out that the reason for the rejection was that I did not select all the accounts that were presented to me in the application screen. I gave the feedback that if that was the case, then the system should provide a message indicating the consequences of my choices.
And the rejection message should reflect that scenario, and not make general (false) statement about my economy.
I repeated the process (as instructed) and my application was approved.

Thank you for your review and reflections. It’s highly appreciated.

We are constantly working on optimizing the communication in our application flow and we know that it can be somewhat generic and that it does not reflect all possible scenarios. Hence, in many cases a decline is due to a customer’s economy.

However, we are currently working on a ‘non-generic communication' that suits more scenarios. Hopefully, we will be able to implement it in the nearest future.

It's always a good idea to call Customer Service in case of questions or at least get them to take a second look at the application even though they cannot not give the reason for a decline.

Can’t get a loan for prescription…

Can’t get a loan for prescription glasses of 3200kr ovee 20months with a 31k salary 😅, and they don’t disclose the reason of refusal. Total joke. Probably for not having permenant residence permit :)

I paid all my debts and loan with them…

I paid all my debts and loan with them and now they reject any new loan and on the phone they are rude and elusive. They dont want to say why I cannot get a loan because its their policy.
Well is my policy to put 1 star rating on each company that treat a good customer that way. Stay far from express bank. Even if you treat them good and pay as supposed, they dont care about you.

We always hate when we are unable to help an applicant with a loan (existing customer as well as a new one) - and we truly understand the frustration of getting a decline. We also wish that we could be more transparent when it comes to reasons for declines, but as of today it's simply not possible due to the many different demands and criterias of a creditworthiness assessment. Furthermore, our company's credit policy is confidential information that we cannot fully or partly reveal.
