Evans Halshaw Leeds sold me a crash repaired car
Evans Halshaw Leeds sold me a VW T-ROC and described it as an immaculate, single owner car. They took my immaculate FIAT 500 with just 19k miles and recent full service with cam belts and 4 new tyres.
When we received the VW it immediately became obvious to my dad and brother who work with cars, that the car had been in a major collision at the front and down the entire near side. It had been very poorly repaired and was entirely over sprayed with fine white paint over its dark grey exterior. There was overspray on the windows and trims were broken and badly fitted. Interior seats were white with dried cleaning products and presentation was absolutely digusting. The car also tended to steer to the centre of the road when being driven, a very dangerous fault for a young driver. We insisted the car be collected and my Fiat returned. When we received the Fiat back the front had quite serious impact damage and there was further paint damage and dents which happened while car was in their care. This has resulted in repairs costing £1,850 which are still waiting to be paid. Evans Halshaw completely refused to admit liability but offered to pay £50 in damages!
With large car dealerships like Evans Halshaw you would hope that they act with honesty and integrity, but this particular dealership cannot be trusted and should be avoided at all costs.

Utter cowboys. Sold me a car not even a year ago. Had to take it back to them for repair and now it needs more repairs to it. Looks like it’s been in an accident on the rear and it’s been repainted. 100% shouldn’t be faults with a car that I’ve not even had a year yet. Either they didn’t know or did or the previous owners didn’t tell them about the damage. Evans Halshaw Horsforth - don’t bother. Soon as your out the door that’s it. Would avoid at all cost!

This is a review of the Sell Your Car store section. Both my partner and myself have previously sold cars at Evans Halshaw Horsforth and the price offered was the same as, or near to the the price quoted when the online quote was received and the valuation booking made.
I received what seemed to be a fair quote for my car and made a booking, with email confirmation received.
The visit got off to a bad start, when I was asked if I had brought a bank statement. As this was not on the list of items needed, listed in the email confirming the appointment, I had not brought one and in fact as my bank is paperless, I have not received one for years. I was told that I would need to provided one, so any money due to me after the finance had been paid could be sent. A bank card with all my details is not good enough apparently.
The car was viewed and it was pointed out there there were some scuffs on the front and back bumpers, which would need to be painted, which was fair enough.
I was then left to wait for the quote for quite a while. When the quote was finally received, it was over £1,600 less than the original amount quoted. I expected there to be some reduction for the paintwork issues, which are fairly minor, but this was completely unacceptable.
I was told that Evans Halshaw do not give the initial quotes and that they only look over the cars and give their valuation. The quote given was apparently a retail price and was much more than the dealership could offer. This is not really good enough, as I had to take time of work and feel I have wasted an afternoon.
My advice would be, if you get an online quote and book an appointment, phone the dealership first before you make a visit, to see if it is likely they will offer you anything like the amount quoted. Otherwise you may be disappointed and have a wasted journey.
Needless to say, I will not be getting any quotes from them in the future.

Booked an appointment and turned up wanting to test drive a new car but the person I had booked the appointment with had wandered off and couldn’t be found. After the third member of staff I had asked to find him was busy with something else and couldn’t be bothered to update us or apologise I decided to leave and try another dealership. This was 20 minutes after the appointment was due to start.

I took my car for a replacementABS wheel sensor
I paid for 2 years warranty.
The lady told me I owe £173.84
It says on my list of what’s covered and it says ABS control unit and sensors so I didn’t understand why I had to pay. I feel I am paying warranty for nothing.
