Terrible experience with Sporting Life
Terrible experience with Sporting Life. Bought a pair of runners that literally fell apart withing the first 45 days. These shoes were used at the gym primarily. Then I went on a hike and by the end of the day one of the bottom pads fell off. Went on a second hike and the foam sole was ripping. So submitted a warranty claim and they said that level of damage was normal wear and tear. Thats crazy for only having them for 45 days and only going on two trail hikes.
Terrible customer service
I’m trying to purchase a e-bike from them, their website says “hurry, only a few left” 24hr pickup tried to purchase online 3 times, each time received confirmation, followed by a cancellation, i then phoned the Yorkdale store to be told they have the bike but it needs assembly, that was 5 days ago, called again today only to be told it’ll likely be another week, as they don’t have any techs! Why are they in the business of selling bikes if they’re incapable of preparing them?

Went to sporting life for the first time today to purchase new hiking shoes. Diego the gentleman working in the shoe department was amazing patient, knowledgeable and more than willing to help.

Ordered shoes on Monday. Friday they send an email "Sorry your ordered item is out-of-stock". Well that's not what your web site said when I ordered them. Shop elsewhere.
False promises, Glitches, Blocks, and Canceled Orders
The website contains misleading information about a $20 bonus for registering an account with purchases over $350, but this feature does not work. As a result, I overpaid $20. What’s even more surprising is that after completing the payment, the website canceled my order — very strange. I also tried to submit feedback on the company’s website to report the glitch, but I was blocked. These guys clearly don’t know how to maintain their website: everything keeps crashing, orders get canceled, money is charged without control, and customers are blocked. Unacceptable service.

I went to Sporting Life a few days ago to buy a shirt for my son and a lovely girl with blond hair named Riley helped me. She was extremely friendly and helpful and I found exactly what I was looking for after her help. It was a great shopping experience because of her!

Ordered a pair of hiking boots online
Ordered a pair of hiking boots online. The delivery service made it almost two weeks late. I went online to write the company about it taking so long and I saw that a couple of days after I had ordered that the boots were now 25% off. I wrote and asked if they could give me a discount for my troubles since the boots were discounted so soon after I bought them. I got no response after I wrote them twice.
I can understand if they wrote back saying "no" in some form. But no response at all is a slap in the face for already bad service.

Don't trust website about stock
Orfered an item that was listed as being in stock. Received a cancelation email from them saying it wasn't in stock. Weeks later, the item is *still* listed as in stock. Emailed them to ask about item, received no reply.

I have made a couple of large purchases with Sporting Life (many hundreds of dollars for each purchase), and I can say they have been a pleasure to deal with, and also have given me some of the best prices for the items I have purchased.
In the course of purchasing with them, I have had to return an item that I bought online, to one of their physical stores. I had no issues with the return, and everyone was very friendly. I then re-purchased a similar item online from them, and after purchasing it, I found the product to have a lower price from a competitor. I went through their price adjustment policy, and their customer service was easy and friendly to speak with. The price was adjusted, and I am thankful for them being easy to contact and discuss the request with them.
I have no complaints about them, and from my experience, they are very good at what they do, and have a great selection of products. 5/5.
