AVOID! Best offer online heavily reduced with lies!!!
I was offered £200 initially for my handset, which was in perfect condition, and had been kept in a shock proof cover with a screen protector.
Upon receiving my phone, RPC emailed to confirm that the offer had been reduced to £140 due to issues with the handset. When I checked this further, all of the “problems” were cosmetic- Discolouration where the cover had been, that the back of the phone was marked and pitted, and that there were deep scratches on the side.
All of which was completely untrue!
I rejected this disgraceful offer, and after apparently checking my phone for a second time, RPC gave a revised offer of £160, still an unjustified £40 below what had been first offered, which I also declined.
The only positive from this experience is that when I asked for my handset and to be returned, this was done so within two working days, and was very well packaged to prevent damage.
When I checked online for the next best offer, MusicMagpie where the next highest with £185.30.
I am pleased to say that their service was excellent, with the full amount being being paid into my bank account without issue within a couple of working days of my handset being received by MusicMagpie.
5 stars for these guys!
Why then could RPC not pay the full £200?
This is because RPC Recycle are cowboys!
They show offers which are higher than other, honest competitors to lure you in, only to massively reduce their offer with dishonesty and lies, in the hope that as they have your phone, you will just accept whatever they give you.
RPC in 4 words- Anger, disappointment, disbelief ,stress.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!
Absolutely appalling service - AVOID
Absolutely appalling service
I sent my phone to this company after a quote of £120 was given to me
After weeks of them continuously saying that it hadn’t arrived, I contacted the post office and they confirmed that the parcel had been arrived and been signed for
I contacted their support and was told that it had been lost in a depot (by Royal Mail) and they had spoken to them. They gave me very specific contact details for the Royal Mail (name and ref) and said they had agreed to pay to original quote
Royal Mail do not have any record and still claim that the phone had been delivered
So I’m now a handset down (which was in immaculate condition) with no payment
Really disgusted and will not use again
Lesson learnt to also get insurance on ALL post sent out
Avoid this company
I sent in my phone and the assessment went fine. I received an email saying there would be a payment confirmation within 24hrs. This did not arrive and several phone calls later and over 2 weeks down the line I eventually received the payment. The customer service was terrible and kept being told different reasons for the problem, no real apology either. Avoid!!!
Poor service and very slow payment.
Sent in my iphone; which was in excellent condition and, like many received a lower counter offer due to “wear”. Though I knew the phone was in excellent condition I was not in the mood to argue so accepted and awaited payment. It took over a month and many emails to finally receive my money. Customer service always replied to my emails promptly but their promises of money within 48 hours were empty. I will certainly not use again... they promised the best price and quick turnaround using PayPal; it took over a month to get a very average deal. Certainly will not use again and cannot recommend.
Payment 3 days late but great customer service !
Payment came 3 working days late, chased twice and was corrected within half an hour of the second chase, staff friendly and helpful 👍
DO NOT USE!!
DO NOT USE!!! I sent my immaculate phone off after having it for 2 years with a very robust case. I was then told the screen had screen burn and scratches on it, as many people below have been told and now once it was sent back it indeed has minor scratches on it. A SCAM! and I will be going to Trading standards and also watch dog regarding this shambles of a company.
My phone was in immaculate condition…
My phone was in immaculate condition but they somehow found minor faults which reduced the offer significantly.
Would definitely not use again. Would rather sell privately next time.
Super fast payment,excellent customer…iPhone
Super fast payment,excellent customer service
Very disappointed
Very disappointed because the phone I sent in was in excellent condition, but they just came back with a counter offer by saying that the phone was showing signs of wear.
This is covered by the original offer price so they just lure you into sending your phone in to come up with some lame excuse to lower there price.
Had no complaints about the the service, but will not be using them again.
Very good service
I sent my phone off before reading the reviews as RPC we’re offering the best price for my iPhone. Having read the comments my heart sank. I received the prepaid envelope within 3days - just simply put my phone (inside its original box) and posted off. 3 days later I received confirmation I would get full value for my iPhone of £205. This payment did take 4 days before I received it which is why I dropped one star but apart from that I can recommend the service from my experience, it went very smoothly.
Highest Price offered, MASSIVE reduction when they received the phone.
RPC quoted the highest price of all for my phone, and happily signed up, sent off my phone. Now my phone did have a small scratch and was expecting some reduction as there is no where to indicate scuffs or scratches when you get your quote. HOWEVER, I was invited to call in a discuss the valuation to which there was a list of faults that cant be detected, Screen burn or Light burn or some sh*te.. and the scratch so there has been an 80% reduction on the valuation.... I immediately asked them to send the phone back and sold it again to another at only a £20 reduction on the price quoted. I would not trade with this company again asw they clearly are out to devalue at every opportunity...
A better deal isn't always a better deal...
Everything was going well with this company until I noticed that I hadn't received payment.
Whilst I did not have to chase/wait as long as other reviewers, I too am left unimpressed by RPC Recycle's service and will not do business with them again.
I do find it odd that the company has a link to Trustpilot feedback within their website, given some of the reviews I have read. I only wish I had seen these sooner.
They are not reliable at all
They are not reliable at all. The phone has not even been dropped. I can understand where there are some marks on the case but to reduce the cost by nearly half is ridiculous.
My phone was in mint condition and they…
My phone was in mint condition and they have said that the screen is deeply pitted. What a load of rubbish and time wasting. I would be better off selling it on ebay.
Immaculate iPhone 7 sent and they…
Immaculate iPhone 7 sent and they reduced cost for apparently to scratches “penetrating deep into the glass” which is rediculous.
Wish I had seen these reviews first.
Hope I get my phone back from these cowboys
I would never use again
I would never use again. I had to wait over 3 weeks for my money and had to complain three times!!! Awful.
TAKES ABOUT 2 WEEKS FROM START TO…
AVOID - AVOID AVOID
TAKES ABOUT 2 WEEKS FROM START TO FINISH - WHICH TO BE FAIR IS NOT BAD - WHAT IS APPALLING IS THE CONSTANT CHASING UP FOR MONEY - ADVISED WOULD BE RESOLVED LAST WEEK AND WASN'T - MONEY RECEIVED TODAY. EMAILED TWICE AND NO RESPONSE BACK . AVOID
Had to chase twice for payment.
