Worst delivery experience
I have not yet received my items after 13 days using 48 hours delivery and I have had such difficulty trying to get my package redelivered.
I received no notice that the royalmail/parcelforce had first attempted to delivery my items on the 16th and 17th of October (two days after I ordered). I was in the house during one of those days so I wonder if they really did attempt to deliver it. No card was left and no email was sent informing me that the attempted delivery had taken place.
I checked the tracking info the following week and arranged for a delivery on the 25th and waited in all day. Again, no attempted delivery, with this time the royalmail website is claiming my address was 'inaccessible'. Now, it won't give me an option to organise a new redelivery saying that I have already organised one and I should check an email.
The website says my parcel is at a local depot. I went to the local post office to try and figure it out, waiting in line for about 30-45 minutes. The person there told me it was at another location, which is only open from 8 am -10 am and is a 45 minute walk away. She also gave me a number. I called this number and it could not recognise my parcel number. I have now been on hold for 50 minutes and no answer. I am not sure if I should continue holding.
I had ordered these clothes for a work trip starting tomorrow- I have had skin cancer and need some protective lightweight clothing. I am really disappointed in what has happened. I am without clothing to protect me from the sun and will need to go out the night before my trip to find something else. I am especially disappointed after spending so much money on clothes that I would not normally spend so much money on and organising it way in advance. Such a lot of stress!
This may be a problem with a delivery company, rather than Poetry but they should definitely use another service to deliver their items. Avoid at all costs.
Memorable for all the right reasons!
I have been a very regular customer with Poetry Fashion for over 10 years. Each season a buy several items e.g. knitwear, shirts, tees, dresses, jackets etc. I find their designs timeless with a modern twist so easy to wear, don’t date but not stuffy! The colour ranges coordinate well over the seasons. The fabrics are very good quality natural fibres, with a good ranges of sizes for all. I buy online, the items arrive well packed, returns are easy and customer services have always been first class and I rarely need their assistance. Not necessarily cheap, but they off good value, quality and last. I have found their clothes look good, wash and ware well. They do have good sales offers too. All in all I have never used a clothing brand for so many years and found them so reliable. I find it easy to coordinate their clothes over the seasons and year on year, so that helps to build a wardrobe and adds value.
Beautiful clothing.…
I have purchased some items in the sale, and just purchased a cotton cardigan which is beautiful.Service is fantastic, quick refunds and items well packaged.
Chic quality clothing!
I habe been shopping at Poetry and sister company Wrap for many years and have no complaints at all! Such quality clothing ( my wardrobe is bursting with linen and silk tops) Some people may think that the clothing is expensive but you get what you pay for-beautiful classy clothes! Refunds are quick to be processed with no bother at all.Very happy with these companies!
I had a lovely unlined linen blazer in…
I had a lovely unlined linen blazer in a size 12 from this firm. ( For comparison I buy tops from M&S in size 14.) Looking for something for a last minute holiday I found two linen edge to edge jackets in their sale.As a couple of reviewers had found them 'big', I checked the blazer and purchased two in size 12. They were not just big, they were huge! As they were sale items I bought two in a size 10 while speaking to the online assistant. She sent the replacements without charging more postage and I have received a full refund for the cost of the two size 12s. I love their designs, the manufacture is high class, for example, often using proper hems instead of just overclocking, and I have no quibble with the customer service I received. But oh! their sizing. I can cope if it is consistent across the board, but it is not. No wonder these were in a sale.A lady buying a size 18 would find herself with a lovely jacket but large enough to wrap an elephant in.
Beware of stock being backordered and no warning
I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but they take orders now for too much of their stock when they don’t have adequate quantities. I was upset because I bought a matching color top to go with a pair of pants. After I place the order, only then am I informed the pants are on back order. Very deceptive. And one month later I’m informed they had sold out of my size of the pants. So they knew when they kept taking orders on the pants that they didn’t have enough to cover the orders. Most other catalogues warn you ahead of time that something is on back order and there could be a chance of not receiving it. I’m unsure if I will be purchasing from them again in the future, especially on something that’s a color coordinated set. Beware!
Colours fade
I love the shape and fabrics of Poetry t shirts but after several years of building a collection have realised that they are all now a faded cream colour. Always use a cool wash but a beautiful apricot one now looks the same as a ‘pistachio’ colour which faded to s cream after 1st wash. No help from customer services who said id probably not followed washing instructions 😬. Only a bright blue is still blue but very marled in appearance. So disappointing 😟

I had a dress brought in and it is beautiful and of good quality. I don't understand the smear campaign against this store.
No quality here
No quality here. I was seduced by the catalogue and didn't do my normal due diligence.
Normally a size 10, their sizing suggested I should buy a 12, so thats what I ordered. Trousers - way too big. Too short, despite ordering the longer length. Linen jumper - too short, showed my belly. Nothing like the photo. The quality of material was poor too. And, looking at the lables, made in China. So they should be made in China prices.
T-shirt fell apart - poor quality
Bought a pair of trousers and a linen t-shirt last summer. The trousers have held up OK, but the linen t-shirt started falling apart after literally the first wash. Felt a bit conned to be honest with you. Premium prices for absolutely abysmal quality. Glad to see I'm not the only one who has experienced this as when I complained about it at the time, they tried to tell me it was because I wasn't washing it correctly 🙃
Disappointing experience
I bought a lovely red top, cotton and hemp and chosen because it was shorter and a better design than similar products elsewhere. It has nicely weighted material and looked great. After following the washing instructions to the letter it has morphed into two sizes bigger and now looks dreadful. At nearly £90 this is very disappointing and despite admiring other similar tops I won’t buy from Poetry again.
the fabric stretched after the first wash
this is such a pretty lavender colour t shirt and initially the fabric ( hemp and cotton ) seemed to be good quality
unfortunately after the first wash on a delicate cool hand wash cycle it has stretched
the chest is now over an inch wider across the front and the length is more than two and a half inches longer
I have taken the hem up to make it wearable but to be honest it is really disappointing for the price
probably wouldn’t risk another order
Nice natural fibre garments but too much plastic packaging
Nice garments, and I chose Poetry for their 100% natural fibre items on offer (except threads). I was disappointed by the plastic used in packaging though, and that they couldn't accommodate my request for none. I made them aware that I wanted no plastic packaging if possible in the delivery note, which many other brands accommodate, as I react to soft plastics. Other than that, it just seems such a travesty to wrap beautiful expensive silks and wools in plastic, even if it is recycled, due to environmental concerns including microplastics seeping into the garments and home where packaging is unopened. Poetry is transparent about this on their website which is great, but I won't be buying from them again unless/until they opt for bio-based packaging.
Disappointing
I discovered poetry about 2 years ago, I was so impressed with the style and design, I thought I found my go to shop, and purchased a lot of things over this time. Unfortunately I became disappointed, as despite following the washing instructions to the letter after one or two washes beautiful sweaters became baggy, and lovely t-shirts had holes appearing. These items were expensive so although I still love the designs, I’m afraid I won’t be purchasing anything else.
So impressed always helpful fast…
So impressed always helpful fast payment for returns. Well made and great fabric always.
Linen Dress for holiday wear
Hesitated ordering a linen dress, glad i decided "to go for it"-so pleased with the items which are very good fit except for the length. As a 5.2" shapely woman i expect to have to alter clothes. They were beautifully packaged on hangers in the box.The shell coloured blouse greatly reduced in price will be so useful especially with a white T shirt/vest underneath.
Poetry Fashion uses real animal horn
Poetry fashion clothing line uses real animal horn. Saw it on page 20 of their January 2025 catalogue for the 'Sleeveless Sweater'. I contacted them telling them they lost me as a customer and crickets for a response..... not that I wanted or needed one. Pathetic that they support the poaching of beautiful animals.
Poetry continues to delight
Excellent customer service, and quality, well styled clothing. Delighted with recent purchase of cord coat.
Beautifully cut clothes & the return…
Beautifully cut clothes & the return process (for an online order) was SO easy and quick (took less than a week). Minus one star because the prices do feel high for the quality of the materials.
Too many items are Pre order with long waits
I have a wardrobe full of Poetry garments that have been bought over the many years. Quality used to be excellent but has gone downhill in the past couple of years, especially the cashmere which is now thinner. My concern today is that I selected some garments to add to the basket. They both are ‘Pre order only’ with potential wait of May for one item and August (!) for the second. This is in a Spring collection l that hasn’t been out for long. I’m assuming they are making items to order now to save waste (thats me being less cynical) or save money (more likely) or both. What use to me is a purchase that has such a long wait, especially if I want to try different sizes! This happened with a pre-order item last year that took 3 months to arrive, wasn’t great quality and was sent back. This isn’t good enough Poetry. Let’s have garments ready to send please! I have a refund voucher to spend so I will make a purchase but it feels under duress.
