This is a real disappointment

This is a real disappointment. Another mobile company that can´t put the money where their mouths are. Big words in all ads but empty in the end. They don´t buy recycled or used phones at all unless it´s an iPhone 12 at least.

I´m really glad that there were other shops that are legit and genuinely helpful.

Phonecrash / Mobidrive

Buying from Phonecrash (a.k.a. MobiDrive, a.k.a. Phonecrash Sthlm AB) was my worst online shopping experience ever. I am writing this review in English in order to also inform potential phonecrash customers who may not yet be fluent in Swedish.

I bought an iPhone SE (2nd gen) from the Phonecrash website (phonecrash.se) on 6 September 2021 that was listed as a new phone with 1-year warranty. Receipt of the order was confirmed, but I was never received any shipping notification or other information. It arrived in my mailbox in an oversized, crushed cardboard box that contained too little packaging material. The Apple iPhone inside was not shrink wrapped and had opened during transport, so the contents were loose in the box. The plastic film was still on the front and back side of the phone, so it appeared to be new. The battery in a new iPhone usually contains at least a 50% charge, but this one was completely dead, so I became suspicious. I then called the Apple Support number for Sweden (020 100 529) and explained the situation. Apple asked for the IMEI number and serial number shown on the box and in the settings of the phone. They told me that the phone with this IMEI number was originally sold on 27 January 2021 and was replaced by Apple under warranty in February. The phone I received was the replacement phone, and therefore the warranty would expire after just 4 months, on 26 January 2022.

I called Phonecrash repeatedly, during business hours, but they did not answer the phone. Finally, they sent an SMS stating that they were busy and would call me back. They did not. As I live 300 km from their shop, the only way I could contact them was via SMS and by email. They never offered any apology and were very unhelpful. After I send them several complaint letters (Swedish: reklamationsbrev), they agreed to send me a return postage label, but they did not. Finally, I returned the phone via registered post (Swedish: REK brev) and a week later they refunded the purchase price, but not the cost of the postage (which they are required to do by law).

The phonecrash.se website shows that they are Trygg E-Handel certified, by Trygghandel Sverige AB, which means it is supposedly a safe place to buy online. I contacted this organization and explained my experience. They then contacted Phonecrash and told them they had to refund the cost of the return postage, which Phonecrash finally did. All in all, I spent about 40 hours getting this resolved, and Phonecrash never admitted to any wrongdoing, other than by issuing a refund.

Please, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM Phonecrash.se!
