Money scammers-caused massive distress
Charged £2,400 pounds for my daughter's insurance with a fluxscore black box - they cancelled policy with no notice after 3months for reportedly doing 66.4 mph (in a 60 zone) for a 168m section of a mile long straight road -asked for verification of data no response - and no refund offered yet - have taken up with ombudsman. Awaiting response meanwhile my daughter cant get insured due to having a policy cancelled - DON NOT TOUCH FLUX SCORE WITH A VERY LONG STICK is my advice

Shocking company ! Don’t bother
Shocking company signed up with them but found it impossible to log into their portal. Wasted hours on trying plus all my credit on my phone having made several phone calls. Asked my insurance to be cancelled after only 2 days but not actually starting for another 6 . I’m guessing they will still try and rip me off for a admin fee even though it’s been no fault of mine . Go elsewhere, I would rather pay double and get a better service rather than these cowboys . Wished I had read the many negative reviews before I parted with my money !
Black box
My son as a black box they told him to fix it too the windscreen, but not blocked by the wiper which he did and video it,it lasted about half hour before falling off he fixed it again and it fell off again he is on is 4th one so far but they keep falling off and all he gets is you have to do it or we cancel your insurance no help what so ever, in my opinion not fit for purpose.

Spoke to a rep from Flux direct. Was told there was a problem with a months insurance for a motorhome. He came back to tell us, that the problem was "At the end of month you will be charged £200 to cancel the policy ????" There is no penalty at the end of 30 day insurance. I have notice people say aggressive selling.

Adrian Flux and Flux Smart Box are a complete waste of time!!
In the event of an accident when the red button is pressed the Flux Smart Box is supposed to provide caring, friendly roadside assistance!!
Wrong!!
My 18 year old son was involved in a bad car crash at 1am Sunday..the red button pressed and answered by an out of hours 3rd party who needed to know who the policy was underwritten by and there was nothing she could do!!
The smart box is supposed to be connected and tracked by Flux
The police had the vehicle removed by a recovery lorry who caused the box to have a redline along its journey!
Flus texted and emailed for days to say the insurance would be cancelled even though they were aware it was the tow truck.
I rang Flux to advise them how upsetting this was for a parent who trusted the system but the lady in customer care spoke to me like I was a complete idiot and said that most customers carry their insurance details with them!
When that issue was finally resolved Flux informed me that the insurance would be cancelled as the Smart Box had become dislodged.
Hours and hours I have rung many many call operatives informing them that the vehicle has been in an accident, is no longer in our possession and awaiting assessment but the Flux Customer Care keep asking me to re fit the box. I asked if they knew whether the windscreen was still in place but they asked me to get in touch with the recovery operator and ask them to replace them or adjust it..”maybe it’s upside down?”…what part of vehicle not in our possession or roadworthy are they not getting?
They said that hopefully the vehicle is written off then the smart box isn’t an issue!!
This morning I am being texted saying the smart box needs recharging!! They say the insurance company has demanded the policy be cancelled due to the smart box being dislodged but I rang ERS (wonderfully helpful man) who said this is not the case and he would deal with Flux.
I sincerely hope the young kids reading from a computer script at Flux customer care, don’t have children one day in accidents using a Flux Smart Box!

I have been with Adrian flux for 3 days and it was hell on earth. Wasn't even driving my van and it told me I was speeding. I've had 1 warning and 2 cautions in 3 days. Absolute joke. Then went to cancel my policy and they said there was nothing on the system regarding me "speeding" even tho I had 1 warning and 2 cautions for speeding. Then had to pay £388 cancellation fees. Please try and avoid, the smart box system is a joke. Would not recommend.
Shocking black box battery system
Shocking black box battery system, battery goes down without use and it forces you to drive to charge it which cost more money. And even when you charge it on your drive, it barely increasing the %.

I have had nothing but problem since week3 where they said I removed my box and kept re installing it with over 72 text messages and counting. It ended up being an on going joke as I would be at my girlfriends 9 miles for the van and it would say the black box has been removed then re installed 7-10 mins later.
They then decided the cancel on me but then offer me a new policy for an extra £29 a month.
now the policy is canceled they want an extra £109 off me for short falls even tho I paid my insurance 6th of may which makes no sense as I’ve already paid for this months insurance.
Now my policy is cancelled I decided to take the blackbox apart. They don’t tell you they have 4 transmitters and MICROPHONE
So they can likely listen to you or if you crash they can hear what went on. This wasn’t on the agreement
I keep receiving threatening messages…
I keep receiving threatening messages saying that I have removed my black box when it is still there , one of the messages when I was driving and the route was tracked by the box. No idea how to stop these messages , just going to ignore it and if they decide to cancel the insurance based on this I have a valid arguement.

I currently have an AdrianFlux black box - first of all they don’t tell you that it has to be fitted on the windscreen until you receive it, which i find embarrassing with my friends. secondly i constantly receive threatening messages saying my policy will expire if i don’t charge the box - the only way it can be charged is whilst you drive, plugged into the cigarette fitting. This means an unsightly lead and box! Total scam, since the only way it charges is if you drive it means you are forced to drive if the battery is running low, therefore using more miles and you have to pay £200+ for extra miles. This takes money making scheme to the next level. Would not recommend to anyone - will not be renewing.
I was also quoted that a fully charged black box should last 2 weeks if you are not driving - i recently went away and after 3 days the battery dropped from 99% to 40%, which shows it clearly would not have made the 2 week mark.

I am extremely disappointed with this insurance I paid up front over £1400 for this insurance after passing my test. i am an extremely careful driver and for 10 months I have only had 1 minor warning and was very excited to see when the 12 months would be up I will have reduced premiums. 2 weeks ago in the space of 24 hours I had 25 notifications that I was speeding when I was most definitely not. I rang Sterling and they told me they were moving me to 3rd party and I had to pay another £2000 for second chance insurance. I rang to query this and they told me tough I definitely speeding I tried to ask if the box is faulty but they would not even consider it. this has upset me considerably and am so worried that I now have a black mark for cancelled insurance as they have cancelled it and effectively kept my 3 month’s premium I have been totally ripped off. i have talked to several of my friends who have had the same experience nearing the time for renewal I would advise anyone to reconsider when taking out black box insurance as I don’t know anyone who has received satisfactory service and price. it was designed to help new drivers but had caused so much stress. My cousin is experiencing exactly the same and has already paid additional 500 I will be contacting the media and Martin Lewis to investigate as it has shocked me how many drivers that have been affected by these finances and increases please me careful. Have tried getting answers but no luck.

Predatory Business Practices
I was insured with Sterling Insurance who took out a black box policy with Fluxscore. The box constantly gave inaccurate readings on my driving, stating that I was speeding down narrow lanes and that I had been speeding in places that I've never stepped foot in once. I eventually received a call from my insurance company explaining that due to my poor driving, they were now cancelling my insurance. I tried to explain the issue with the black box but they weren't having it. They effectively ransomed me and demanded £6000 to reinstate the insurance which I couldn't afford. As a result, they voided the insurance which has left me struggling to find reasonable insurance ever since. I had a job in care at the time and I was very reliant on my car due to working in the community. This situation meant that I couldn't go in to work and I nearly lost my job. I was also unable to fulfill my responsibilities to the people who relied on my care in order to maintain their lives and independence. This situation caused everyone an extreme amount of stress and upset. I still dread having to renew my insurance to this day due to the excessive premiums I now encounter due to the voided insurance. The black boxes with this company are inaccurate, dangerous and honestly just scams. The business practices of this company come across as predatory and they seem to be very good at ripping of young people who haven't long passed their tests. To anyone still unsure about this company, I encourage you to read other reviews on here and also have a look at Joe Lycett's consumer rights show where he investigates this company for its shady practices.

Worst smart box policy ever
If I could leave aless than 1 star I would.
We had 4 black box policies with my teenage daughters, and this has been to only one to report poor driving.
Apparently my daughter was driving 44 in a 30 wiggly country lane! Which she denied doing as she said that 30 would be too fast for that road. I agree knowing the road.
Smart box has been a constant pain with requiring charging. And the daily alerts gave no explanation for themselves.
She has had threatening cancellation notices and red journeys all over the place. I got a red journey on the one drive I made in the car and definitely did not speed.
Speaking with customer service, was a waste of time, as they just claimed her driving was bad, even when she denied it!! No way to cancel the policy ourselves before they did, as it was suspended on their system and they wouldn't let us.
Now her policy has been cancelled by FLUX and which will cause huge expense to re-insure again.
Wish we'd read reviews before.
One of my other daughters is with another black box company right now and I'd claim her driving is not as good as this daughter, yet she has never had any issues with warnings.
Had to take car off the road and stop youngest daughter driving, until we can sort it out. Not paying the £2700 FLUX wanted to continue with them.

What a joke
What a joke. Our daughter has the black box and we keep getting messages saying she is driving badly. I followed her one time and my Hastings Direct box (they are great because they tell you what / where you might have done something ‘wrong’) gave me a perfect score yet we got a red stroke email from Flux later. She was definitely, 100% not breaking the speed limit. It also went to the garage and we got a strike when the guys at the garage took it out! Hate driving the car now for fear of another strike.

The smart box has been the biggest pain in my backside! Every week I get a message saying they are cancelling it as it’s not attached, it’s incorrectly fitted etc. spent extra money on new fitments kits for the same outcome! Absolute joke and the company are no help and say that it’s our fault rather than trying to sort out the clear manufacturing problem! The smartbox is huge compared to others I have seen and is not fit for purpose in my opinion

My son had fluxscore device and app in his car for just over a year as I stupidly forgot to cancel his insurance when I had a chance and I have to say it is so bad its a joke. No idea what you have done wrong so you can try to put right and when you contact company what a waste of time. Both my daughters had black box fitted and knew exactly where we were with this. DO NOT GET A FLUXSCORE DEVICE AND APP !!!!
