Scam Alert – They Tried to Charge £30 After a 10p “Trial”!
This company is a total scam. I only paid 10 pence to remove a background from one photo, and without any clear warning, they secretly signed me up for a “subscription” and tried to charge me £29.90 the very next day.
Luckily, I never keep money on the card I use online — so their attempt failed.
They are nothing but thieves hiding behind fake “AI tools”. Be very careful – you think you’re paying a few pennies, but the next day they’ll try to take £30 or more!
Stay away from Ctool.ai – it’s a scammy, dishonest website that tricks people into automatic payments.

I put a file on this companies system to have it reduced to passport size. They charged me £0.10 (10pence) via Gpay and my bank. My bank immediately called as this is a common scam. It also happens to be the recognised way that most organisations check your card validity before suppying goods - eg petrol. I was sent e-mails from the company and did not action any of them, links, phone numbers etc. My bank tells me the company can change its name and use the details to make another demand without my knowledge. So it is a SCAM even the website hasn't got ant details. Do not touch with a barge pole.
🚨 Complete Scam — Charged £49.90 for Something I Never Signed Up For!
I paid 10p for what I thought was a one-time service, and NOWHERE did it say I’d be automatically signed up for a £49.90 subscription! This is deceptive, dishonest, and downright unethical.
How on earth is this kind of hidden subscription even allowed? There was no clear notice, no confirmation screen, nothing stating I’d be billed nearly £50 for something I never agreed to. I only realised when the money was already taken out of my account!
I’ve contacted them demanding an immediate refund and for them to remove my bank details, but honestly, this feels like a trap designed to exploit customers.
Companies that do this rely on people not noticing until it’s too late — and that’s disgraceful. Avoid at all costs. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Scam
Scam, charge £0.10p, then use your bank details and pass them around various 'AI' sites. I was charged £49.49 by another company.

I never agreed to the $49.90 they charged me, why would I? That fee is absurd for something that can be obtained online for free. I cancelled my subscription immediately, within minutes of signing up, well before the 24 hour trial had expired.
I’m working with my bank to reverse the charges and have been issued a new debit card.

Another person here that paid 10p for a preview of a photo and got charged £49.90 by ‘picpop’ the following day. Absolutely disgusting and my bank have declined to treat it as fraud as I paid the 10p thereby giving my bank details. I had to create an account with etool to cancel my ‘subscription’ and had a message back that I will not be charged but no reply to my email asking them to refund the £49.90. Absolutely raging.
Scammers - Theives
As per the reviews, bunch of scammers. Paid 0.15 AUD for one pic. Next day, they attempted to charge me $74.96 AUD. I did have afew dollars so they charged me the 0.15 again, why? Idk. Fortunately, I’m one of those people that never keeps any money in their main account for this exact reason, I’m sick and tired of ratty scammy individuals stealing from us. I don’t even have an account/subscription with them, so I don’t understand what these two charges are even from.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Avoid Etool AI at All Costs
I deeply regret ever signing up for Etool AI. After canceling my subscription in June, I continued to be charged month after month—despite their own platform clearly stating “Once canceled, we will no longer charge you.” That promise was a lie.
I contacted their support multiple times, submitted every document they asked for—including my registered email, payment method, and screenshots—and received nothing but automated, copy-paste responses. No acknowledgment, no resolution, and certainly no refund.
Even worse, they kept spamming me with the same message asking for the same information I had already provided. It’s infuriating how easy it was for them to deduct money from my e-wallet, yet they’ve made the refund process deliberately slow and evasive.
I’ve now deleted my account entirely, and I’m still waiting for my money back. Their customer service is nonexistent, their policies are misleading, and their handling of user concerns is downright disrespectful.
Do not trust this platform. If you value transparency, accountability, and basic customer support, look elsewhere.
Do not give this company access to your money.
I would give less than 1 star if it were possible. I paid 10p for a photo. The photo wasn’t worth any money it was so bad. The next day I found that they had taken £49.90 plus the 10p. In fact I believe that they took the 10p twice. I have been battling ever since to get the money that they stole from my bank. At first they offered half, I said no. Then they said that they had processed a full refund. Then this morning they wanted my information again and offered me half. They are thieves.
SCAM SCAM WILL BE CHARGED $49.90 US DOLLARS!TRIAL: DONT DO IT
Just like I read in these reviews if I could give it a big fat zero I would if I would’ve come here and read the reviews before using this company I should’ve just like all the one star reviews that I feel a real and the others are not I was scammed out of my $49.90 after paying $.10 for a trial for a year. Gonna go on to write the Better Business Bureau I’m gonna start a petition. I’m gonna do whatever I can to get this website, take it down maybe I can’t get it taken down, but I’m gonna at least try. I work from home remotely so I have all day to do this so when I get the petition brought up if anybody would like to sign it, I will post it on here

I paid 10p for photo size reduction and then they tried to take £49.90 from my account the following day, luckily the bank stopped it and marked them as fraudulent, avoid this website.
I am so really unhappy with this
I am so really unhappy with this. I paid 10p for a one time conversion of a jpg to a smaller size. The conversion was rubbish (it changed the background from light to dark) and now I've been charged £50 for a subscription I never knew I signed up to. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THEY ARE THIEVES!

If I could only give a 0 rating then I…
If I could only give a 0 rating then I will. I was charged 899 for a subscription that I didn't make. When I tried to check if I have subscription with this site, I found out that I don't have any. Regardless of not having a subscription with them, they still managed to charge me without my consent. It was unauthorized transaction. I requested a full refund of the amount deducted from my account. When I get that refund, I will go back to this review and make an update about it. Stop scamming people! We worked hard for every single penny you deducted us.
Attention Subscription trap
I find the site's services quite useful. However, I feel cheated because I signed up for a subscription in a sneaky way (24h trial period). Cancellation of the subscription within the trial period is NOT POSSIBLE because you practically have to have canceled before signing up for the trial subscription - which is really not possible.... CRAP site - stay away from it and keep looking for fair providers - there are definitely some!!!

They automatically subrscibe you without any notification if you want to subscribe. Literally a scam
Would be no stars if possible
Would be no stars if possible. Do not use this site, it is a scam. Same as previous review, you think you pay 10p for one photo and they subscribe you without your knowledge. Disputing with my bank. SCAMMERS
Won't refund Subscription
I paid for a photo which was charged a nominal fee. Then suddenly was charged a subscription fee. I have tried to get a refund and get a standard response and no help. Do not use the site. They are scammers
Scam Alert
Scam Alert. Their site is not forthcoming and somewhat deceptive. Does not state about a trial period. I paid $.10 to have a jpeg file reduced, they charge the $.10 and then the next day $49.90. They will not issue a refund. It appears you are paying as you go but then you are hit with a subscription the next day no less. STAY AWAY!! Besides all of this, unless you are white, you will not be satisfied with any of their so-called tools. Notice that are images are white men and women. Not reflective of the real world. I would give a zero rating if it was available.
