Worst mistake
I placed an order online from the blue lagoon skincare store and it’s been more than 10 days but no update on the parcel. According to the blue lagoon my order is on its way since 8 days but the UPS tracking says that they still doesn’t have the possession of the item. I contacted blue lagoon skincare team but got no response. Such a disappointment. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Lagoon is beautiful and in an area where the porous lava has been lined with silica.
Facial masks are nice and use uf towels is included.
Best to book directly on their website and consider adding a transfer to/from Keflavik and/or Reykjavik.
Everyone is required to wash properly with soap before donning their swimsuits and entering the pool. Not everyone does so lagoon is not as clean as it should be.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, tried phoning, emailing and completing lost property form (which states response within 48 hours) heard absolutely nothing from them. Would not recommend a visit here it’s overpriced and tacky. Many natural pools in Iceland far better to visit
They need to stop reopening the blue…
They need to stop reopening the blue lagoon be arsed this isn't gonna be the last eruption even the scientists and the met office has agreed this gonna be happening every single month for god knows how long plus with more cracks and fissures opening up time can only time and if there's another eruption happen what will happen if it the next eruption happen directly inside the blue lagoon your gonna kill 100s of people, so stop reopening it until the eruption stops completely meaning give it 6 or 7 months
Just got back from the blue lagoon
Just got back from the blue lagoon, it was lovely but booked through tui and we only had 1 hour in the lagoon, we were gulping down the drink, rushing to do the steam, sauna and mask, so disappointed but will tui.
Book direct and check transfer times.
Disappointed
We bought proper footwear in preparation for the uneven natural surface you would expect to find there under the water but the whole experience was disappointing because it's just a man made swimming pool in the middle of nowhere and very commercial!!!
Wonderful experience
I went here a few years ago
I went here a few years ago. And its lovely to feel the warm spa and have this crazy weather change on you . The water is super hot. But my biggest recommendation is the restaurant whe you come out. I hadn't had anything to eat yet that day and there's a sandwich stall in there or at the very end a classy restaurant. I decided rather than buying high priced snack sarnies which are never very nice anywhere to go have a nosy at the restaurant prices first.. The service was BEYOND exceptional 👏 I ordered the fillet steak. Was my first ever and not expensive as I thought for this lovely restaurant on looking at the drinks I went for what was my favourites as im a beach girl Mojitos!! Which were amazingly made. They really were the freshest
I only know of one other place in Spain thats can do better. But the best part was not only did they leave and pour you jugs of ice water for free they also came over and offered me free glasses of wine while I waited for mohitos and meal and its was very good red. The whole meal only cost me about £20. And they were so friendly and kind to me considering I was alone. I don't believing tipping ( hate that US culture. But hope and think I did on that day 😅) it was one lovely day from the spar lagoon and meeting a fellow single traveller who got i on with. U can also float over to a floating shop in the lagoon and there a spots where you can use this natural facial. But becareful I picked the wrong slush up at one point and it stunk.. but the restaurant service ive never forgot was strange as I was the only person there
Maybe people were worried about how posh it looked but it was a real treat for me. Wonderful people and treatment of me as alone diner. I miss it now. Good times
Am I blind to lose the bus?
1. Situation:
I have waited for the bus since 11:30 just like it has mentioned.
It didn’t came till 11:55 and I suddenly find that the bus I saw from the homepage passing away from me.
I have called to the number at the ticket.
Yakob have managed the situation and mentioned that since I have missed the “grey bus”(not even the bus mentioned above), I have to take another bus there that is planning to leave at 1pm. which means I have to wait at that place like 1hour and half.
2. Problem
a. I have never informed about the pick-up bus. According to the ticket, the bus would be the “smart bus”, and it’s not a grey bus at all.
b. Even so, if the bus has stopped in front of me and asked if there is anyone who is going to blue lagoon OR called the name, this would not happen. I saw grey bus, but they didn’t have any discriptions about where are they going. How can I know which Grey Bus is the bus that I have to take?
c. Since I have to arrived at the airport at least 4:30, I have no other option but to take the bus at 4pm from blue lagoon to the airport. Which means, I can only stay at the lagoon for less than 2 hours and I don’t want to spend my money just for staying there for 2 hours. It is different from my plans and the plans get ruined not because of me but because of the bus.
3. Their serivce
They mentioned that It's my fault to missing the bus. They have labled the bus "SMART BUS" which I have never seen. Also, they had a customer ride the bus at the station, they cannot give any refund.
If this is the case, AM I BLIND?
This place is an absolute must for…
This place is an absolute must for anyone going to Iceland. We went there straight from the airport so as not to waste any time on our holiday. When I go back I am going to do it again 100%
Overbooked
Overbooked, not enough busses to return folks to their hotels, and awful service. The lagoon was jammed packed with people. I can only imagine how many were peeing in it! Save you money!
Love this place, can’t wait to go back
Love this place, went for my birthday, can’t wait to go back!! The facilities are great, I’d suggest buying your own phone pouch protector if you want to take photos in the water as it’s pricey there. Awesome to be able to buy drinks with a wrist band!
A sea of single use plastic
Too much plastic! This is a natural experience ruined by a sea of single use plastic around the edges as well as plastic straws ! I would also echo the comments about the staff clearly there is a cultural issue that management need to address . A smile goes a long way
Avoid Blue Lagoon, Iceland
We have visited Blue Lagoon several times in the past and enjoyed our visits.
On one occasion the weather was poor and we contacted them to see if it was possible to change date to the following year when we would be visiting Iceland again. They were very obliging and agreed.
This year the same thing happened, it was pouring with rain and had gale force winds, so we contacted them with a view to changing dates. Their policy has changed and they do not change dates to the next year, even for visitors who are leaving Iceland the next day! They would do nothing, so we were left with visiting the Lagoon in gale force winds that made the heavy rain feel like bullets on your face and body - not a pleasant experience!
Over the years Blue Lagoon has changed from a novel, fun experience to a very commercially minded organisation only interested in extracting as much money as possible from its customers and offering minimal customer care.
As well as the above, they no longer offer a simple entry to the Lagoon, only the more expensive packages at higher prices.
Also beware of their cancellation policy - you have to make contact at least 24 hours in advance which can be difficult in Iceland where the mobile phone coverage is limited to say the least. However, there's no point in waiting until the day to decide if you want to go as they are often sold out at the popular times!
Iceland has many other thermal spas on offer, some of which are free, you would be well advised to seek them out before signing up to the Blue Lagoon.
The most magical place I´ve ever…
The most magical place I´ve ever visited. Not only is the Blue Lagoon entirely beautiful and a cozy place to rest during a cold and rainy day, it also did the best to my skin. Also: during my day visit, the staff was kind, polite and experienced. Nothing more I could wish for. At the end, I even bought some skin and hair products which I´m totally HAPPY with. My skin radiates healthiness and my hair is softer than ever before. Truly recommendable!
Experience of a lifetime
Recently returned from a trip to Iceland which included a trip to the Blue Lagoon.
Before booking online months before, I was skeptical - it was an expensive experience, and I wondered if it would live up to expectation.
After going along, I can say it was worth every penny, and I wish I could go back right now.
Even before going along to the lagoon itself, I had a very positive customer service experience. I had made an error with my online booking, and after speaking to a member of the team, my booking was amended for no extra cost, despite being given a time-slot that was considerably more money than my original booking.
The place was clean, comfortable, and the most relaxing thing I have ever done. The views are extraordinary, the staff were friendly and professional.
It was an amazing experience
It was an amazing experience!
The staff is not very professional, but that doesn't make it any less pleasant.
The most annoying, are customers who don't follow the rules and take other people's things.
wonderful place
Been there twice with years apart. Great experience both times. The staff explained how everything works. Booking of tickets was easy and the place is wonderful.
The only downside is how popular it is, even when its not main season. There was a lot of visitors in the changing room. The changing rooms could be bigger so everyone isen´t so close.
Dreadful Service
The excitement of our family visiting the Blue Lagoon was soon short lived. The pool experience was lovely but the reception we received and the staff service was appalling... that ruined the whole day. Upon our arrival no one was available or interested in welcoming us or helping / advising us as to what we had to do or where to go. They took our money and then left us to our own resources. The staff in the changing rooms were miserable and unhelpful. All the staff lacked interest and preferred to chat and mess around amongst themselves. Despite this we did enjoy the Lagoon / pool experience until we were met with further rudeness, disrespect and a very bad attitude from staff in the Resturant. As part of my treat for the family I booked the full package which included a table and free drinks in the resturant only to be told upon our arrival that the whole resturant had been now been booked for a private function and that our booking was no longer available.. When I showed them our booking form they simply said tough and that it was closed. The staff did not care at all.
The lagoon itself was lovely, relaxing and a wonderful but sadly the experience was ruined by the way the resort is run and customers treated.
overpriced, unclean
i visited at a time of the year when there was some kind of construction going on, so the pool was smaller than it use to be. the first thing i did when entering the pool was go to the sides. i stuck my hand under a rock and it felt soft. i pulled my hand out and there was some kind of brown sand, which had collected around the exterior rocks of the whole pool. i smelt it and it smelt terrible, like sewage. after my visit i found a postcard showing the original full size of the blue lagoon, which i'd hope leads to better diluted human matter... i think the people running the place are putting profit way before hygiene. it would only take a day to drain it and clean it properly. pretty gross, not recommended at all. some some parts of the pool were OK. but don't forget: it's essentially just a pool, and a tourist trap. i read that 'myvatn' pool - on the other side of iceland - is better.
