We booked a single attraction visit for just the two of us, as long days are not possible at the moment and we certainly were not disappointed!
Our Guide for the day was Dan, who collected us at our requested time of 10.30am and a memorable day began.
The journey was filled with interesting facts of what we could see and the history of Brasov, so many dates and facts, Dan's knowledge was emense and he was happy to answer questions and explain various parts of Brasov's and Transilvania's history.
We stopped at the Monastery in Siniai as it was on the way to Peles Castle, which was a very welcome added bonus, thank you Dan!
We continued our journey to Peles Castle with Dan giving excellent insight of the Royal Family and King Carol I and the history of the Castle being built over 10 years, amazing!
Once inside Dan explained each and every room, pointing out various interesting items and features - including the hot air vents!
We had a wonderful day with Dan, he gave a few suggestions for places to eat during our stay and we visited Sub Tampa Restaurant which is a beautiful walk just outside the city walls.
Highly recommend Dan as a personalised Tour Guide.

Saw three wild bears in the forest. Exciting walk in to the hideout. Experienced guide with knowledge of bears and skills to communicate.

I had a great morning with Alex and Dan on this short hike along the seven ladders canyon. We had a small group of 4 and could take breaks as necessary. Remember to bring cash for the admission to the actual canyon itself (25 RON at the time of writing). Pickup from the hotel was prompt and communication was good via WhatsApp! Would absolutely do another hike with them in future when I visit Transylvania again

We completed the “ Small Group Day-Trip in Romanian Authentic Mountain Villages from Braşov today. Alina was our guide. The tour was very well organized by Marian from Active Travel and the hike through the mountains was absolutely AMAZING, at an easy pace, accompanied by a lot of detailed explanations by Alina. The nature that we hiked through was varied and having a beautiful day made it even more breathtaking!!!
The 3 course lunch that was offered at the end of the hike was at an extremely beautiful guest house. It was beyond exceptional-tasty, varied, plentiful and served in a very Romanian authentic atmosphere!!!!

Fun, informative, interesting!

I took a private tour with Mihai in the Bucegi Mountains, and it was outstanding! We spent 9 hours hiking through different valleys and honestly could have gone for more. He knows the right paths to take, how to find some beautiful spots and how to keep you safe amid fears of bears. If you ever need a guide, Mihai is the guide you want.

Charlie was outstanding, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the history and culture here. He struck the perfect balance between guiding and giving us space to explore, and his stories really brought the places to life.

He was really helpful with an elderly couple who who were apart of the group, he ensured no one was rushed when visiting the Bran Castle. I highly recommend this trip.

We had an excellent experience with Active Travel in Romania. We were a group of 7 people from Latvia, and we spent 5 days in Romania. These days, we have seen a lot, and also spent some days in the mountain area. I can say that our guide, Charlie, is a huge professional, and we can 100% recommend him. The guides are the best part of the different tour. There were very politie, enjoyable, and nice persons.

The explained us a lot of history of the diferente castles (Peles, Cantacuzino, Bran…).

They also made us feel comfortable, helping us in any moment. We highly recommend all the tours.

Great hiking experience. Challenging terrain in some parts making it all the more fun. Like the idea of small groups and the ladder climbing was amazing. 👍

Everything was perfect. We wish that there were more guides than Dan. He was very authentic, careful (in regards to driving and travel sickness of one of the passengers) and could answer all our questions.

We had a great experience with Active Travel. We both really enjoyed out tour to Bran castle and Rasnov Fortress. Our tour guide Charlie is one of the best tour guides we ever met. He is very professional, knowledgeable and has a good sense of humour. He works in relaxed but efficient manner. I would definitely recommend tours offered by this company.

Great bear tour! We saw 5 bears and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

It was such a nice day and a sophisticating view!
First stop was Bran Castle, I really loved it, I went there two times now and I can really recommend it.
The weather was a bit mixed so we had the option to do another hike through a stunning gorge. So we did and it was very remarkable. After that we drove to the restaurant in a village on top of the mountains. It was truly special because of the view and also because of the traditional and local food. It was beautiful to get an impression of romanian culture. The tour guide Dan was really friendly and knows a lot of his country and Transylvania. I've learned a lot about the life in Romania and about the history and culture - I'm sure this was also the best expierience next to the beautiful sceneries. Thanks a lot for this beautiful trip!

Bear watching experience was good. We were lucky to see a bear. Our guide Robert was nice and very knowledgeable.

Our experience with Active Travel was great. Our guide was very patient and very nice and the landscape is wonderful. We recommend it.

If you want to connect with nature without disturbing wildlife in a really intimate way this is your best bet in the Brasov region. We saw 5-6 bears and a curious fox passing in front of us doing their thing. They didn’t beg for food, they didn’t do tricks. They were simply at home. I would do it again!

Charlie is absolutely brilliant. We had a wonderful day with him. His recommendations were fantastic, and he taught us a lot about the history of the towns we visited and of Romania. We're delighted. We will always recommend him.

The tours was very beautiful. The canyon definitely worth visiting and then the hike from the canyon was very nice as well. Marian, our guide, made the tour confortable for was. Definitely recommend it.
